Fall Miniature Decorating Ideas and New YouTube Video

Hello friends! It is a beautiful fall looking day here and I had a little time to myself.
So I created a new video I added to YouTube Here
it’s filled with a new miniature dollhouse collection of fall items and full of ideas.

This year has especially been a blessing and a time to reflect. We gained two new grandsons for which I’m so grateful. This time last year we had just experienced the loss of a grand baby and I’ll be honest even though our hearts are healing you never quite feel the same.

This year I’m enjoying every moment of Fall.

Last year we were packing to move so I didn’t decorate. But this year I’m loving adding all the touches of autumn with warm vibrant colors.

I found a tiny leaf paper punch and I've been punching little leaves to use in my fall decorating in my miniature furniture pieces. Then using polymer clays and pastel chalks I bought from Hobby Lobby I've made a few pumpkin pies, cinnamon rolls, cakes, pumpkins, apples and other little faux food items.

But my favorite thing I go back to every year is fall colored fabrics. Cottons and flannels are my favorites. I could sew all day long with cotton fabrics in
Autumnal shades and never grow tired of it! And fabric made items are usually budget friendly to decorate a miniature dollhouse table with! I love it!
The tablecloth is approximately 4" x 6"  Most dollhouse tables are either 4", 5" or 6" long. Depending on the dollhouse furniture maker. This one below is an oval table and chairs I purchased from
Hobby Lobby and then painted the furniture black.
I have several patterns and seasonal decorating project ideas in my shop if you need sizes, and directions how to make table linens, bedding, pillows etc. I always try to make what I can make and then I buy dishes. I am lousy at making dishes!
Fall decorating idea books, patterns and projects can be found

Aren't those little paper punches leaves on the plates cute? I don't know why but I love them so much.
I used a lot of plaid fabrics, and kept the fall theme going. Adding pumpkins, some are hand made, and some are purchased, here and there. Also little silk flowers or fall florals are used tucked in here and there on the table, the fireplace mantel and in white pitchers. I look through the store for the tiniest flowers that I can use in decorating, I have made tiny miniature florals and they are extremely time consuming to make. The truth is I would rather sew, so that is where I like to spend my time when making miniature dollhouse items.
And little quilts are my favorite. This quilt pattern is almost ready to be published. Simple to make. That is what I like. I try to use pretty seasonal fabric + simple patterns and then sew it, finish it and decorate with it!

Well friends I hope you too are being blessed in this season and  enjoying each day.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: Ecclesiastes 3:1

Blessings to you.

Fall Home Tour Lots of photos!

Hey everyone! I was looking back through pictures trying to find a fall picture in my home and decided I should share all my past Fall Decor at Ribbonwood Cottage!

We have recently moved to Oklahoma to be near our daughter and grandchildren.  But I love these reminders of sweet fall memories.

We lived in an older farmhouse with a big patio, on 3 acres in a small rural community in Southern

This is my daughter Whitney Rose and Kathie Rose.
and her girls.

I love fall and love to pull out fall florals, candles, throws, dishes and more!

See those eggs in the egg basket? Those are from our chickens. We have cows, chickens, sheep and a little weanie dog named Bella.

Fall cross stitch patterns I created. Love the cozy feel of fall, stitching, drinking my favorite fall coffee, and snuggling in my favorite quilt.

One last thing, for you that follow Ribbonwood Cottage know that my husband and I and our family were very sick earlier this year with the Covid Virus. After we recovered I felt so good and decided things needed to change. I needed to change.
I decided no more wasted days. Each day needed to be productive and I needed to live life
to its fullest.
I am so glad for life and what it has to offer.

Fall Necessities available in my shop found HERE
MY workroom and sewing area....I put my favorite quilts up at eye level for my own personal eye candy. I love quilts and find that they inspire me. So I put a few quilts up that had orange, red and gold in them.
I'M IN A NEW HOME IN OKLAHOMA ON 15 acres and I can't wait to share more fall pictures with you! Stay tuned.

I hope you are having a wonderful day!
