Americana, July 4th and a Free Pattern

Hi everyone, Americana, July 4th and a Free Pattern is on the menu for today! I hope you are having a great week. Can you believe June is over and now we are into July?  Wow....I'm still in May...sort of.

I want to share a few Americana style, July 4th decor photos with you and a free pattern as well.

I pulled all my reds, white, and blues out to stack, sort and put together for pictures and for decorating in the farmhouse...my house. And before you know it July 4th had come and gone. But I love all of the Americana, all the red, white and blue decor.

And I made a few little things. Little houses, marble cake (polymer clay), napkins, and strawberries.

I was blessed to see my dear friend from Kansas. She's a lifetime friend. The best kind of friend.

Cross stitching and wool stitching are my two favorites, because I feel like I can stitch while at home or when I"m visiting with family and friends....I love to stitch. It is very soothing to me and helps me organize my thoughts with each stitch.

My favorite thing in real life is a huge white armoire that I have filled with vintage quilts. So I love making miniature versions for my Etsy shop and my customers. I make them with seasonal quilt pieces to replicate the armoire I have. here is an Americana version.

Another simple thing to do is make little star quilts. It takes a fabric for the star and a fabric for the base, or the front that the star adheres to (I use heatnbond)

My Etsy shop Ribbonwoodcottage has several patterns for Americana style decor, diy miniature making, star quilts in small sizes 7" x 7" and so much more. And my patterns are simple. I love to inspire people with basic sewing or making skills to make and sew things. I remember getting so frustrated in 4th grade when I was learning to sew...with that thought in mind, I deliberately make my patterns easy so that people can ENJOY making what they are making!

This star quilt pattern is on sale right now for $1.99 and can be purchased here @ START Quilt Pattern

and the flag pillow is also included in this pattern.

In our love for Americana and red, white and blue, here is a simple flag pattern to make! The miniature star quilt and pillows. The link will give you access to the pattern.

That is all for now. But stay tuned I have a lot more to share with you!
