Let's Make a Blythe 1:6 Scale DIY Bed

Hey everyone! I hope you are doing well! We are in 100' weather here in S. California. We love the heat, but love air conditioning more.
If you have visited my shop (ever) you will see that doll bedding is often a very popular item. I love to make doll bedding and have had several designs of mine in dollhouse magazines. But miniature dollhouse bedding isn't what I want to share with you about. I want to show you how to make a doll bed! One sixth scale. Barbie or Blythe doll size.
I had a lightbulb moment one night while drifting off to sleep...but then couldn't because my thoughts were swirling around in my head. Basically it was this....since I'm not really a woodworker but a professional seamstress, I wish I could make doll beds for all the bedding I make. I've spent so much money ordering doll beds and then dressing them. So I wanted to make a doll bed without using a saw. My husband doesn't want me using a saw since I am also a church pianist! So I bought some signs on clearance at Hobby Lobby that measured 4" x 12". I didn't care what they said...I was going to use the wood. I also bought packages of knobs or unfinished wood candle holders. Supplies: Wood sign 4" x 12" wood unfinished knobs glue gun and glue sticks white spray paint. Look at the following pictures for the simple process!
I spray painted the knobs and sign a couple times for good coverage. Hot glued the knobs to the four corners of the bed. Next I made bedding. Mattress, flat sheet ( no fitted sheet - make the mattress and flat sheet out of the same fabric). Blanket Ruffled comforter. Pillows...lots of them! There are a few patterns in my shop for making doll bedding Barbie, Blythe, one sixth scall size. I show how to make things in a very simple way. The key is to use pretty fabric. And pillows...lots of them for layering. Ribbonwood Cottage Etsy shop Let me know if you make something! I'd love to know, love to see what you are making. Blessings, Debbie
