Garden Decor at Ribbonwood Cottage

I have always loved garden decor, it just gets to me.
When you first drive up this is what you see....
my wheelbarrow and several containers (gophers can't get to them this way) filled with flowers that overflow!
My all time favorite rose bush just blows me away each season!

Shabby style potting bench

Because we live on a farm, there are old and new ways of decorating outside.

One of our trusty roosters keeps watch behind chicken wire while I putter around the porch!

                                                      I love it.
I want to welcome guests with blooms everywhere!

We live on 3 acres and it has farm animals on it(cows, sheep, chickens, geese, turkeys, pigeons, pigs) and 2 acres of produce....lots of melons and vegetables this time of year. But near the house, on the porch I plant lots of flowers.

Many rose bushes that climb up trees and sunflowers for fall decorating...it will be here soon!

Here is my vintage bathtub last year .... I planted mums till there was no more room! I love flowers to spill out of their containers.
Of course my little miniature world and Etsy shop also reflect my love of the garden.
I found little  garden tools at Hobby Lobby and well....the rest just kind of took shape.
And I personally have a collection of shutters that defies human reasoning! My husband wants to know how many more I need! Hahaha....I just ask him how many farm animals he needs?  Hahahha
You have to talk farm talk to a farmer!!!
On the bottom shelf I used Washi tape to adorn little boxes, and I made the wire basket that holds miniature terra cotta pots.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit!
Blessings,
Debbie

Red, Pink and Aqua Sewing room

There's a new sewing room in town.
Many times I see things and think "oh that would look so cute in miniature!" And of course Pinterest has so many ideas I can't possibly do all the DIY projects I have on my life list!
Here is my latest creation...a sewing room in miniature.

All the things I would want in my own personal room.
I  acquired doll furniture...painted it white, sanded the edges and then added bits of material.

The directions for the little quilt on the left wall are here http://ribbonwoodcottage.blogspot.com/2014/01/how-to-make-miniature-cottage-style.html
It is one of my best sellers in my Etsy shop!
The directions are for the quilt, I made 4 blocks for the wall hanging.

My next thought was the material has to have tiny blooms, checks, and print.

I buy fabric off of Etsy, there is such cute fabric on Etsy. This is Pam Kitty Morning, Riley Blake, Lori Holt...all of it goes together. Aqua, red, greens, and cottage colors.

In my own sewing room, I have many hutches and shelves with folded fabrics. A sewing room always has lots of fabric, laces, batting, buttons, baskets, jars of little items...

This hutch just sold in my Etsy shop but here it is before it gets mailed.

I filled little jars with pins, buttons, lace....there is a box on the bottom to hold scraps of tiny material too.

Quilts on the wall are a must!
Another small cabinet with folded material.

Last, I had to make a little sewing machine cover! These little covers are addictive and I am in the process of making several more.

I think I would like to decorate my own sewing room more with these colors.

IN fact....I may have the chance to do that very soon. Hubby said since the Etsy shop is doing well, we should move my sewing room into a bigger room! I couldn't believe he even thought of this much less suggested it!
Yipeee!

I have many things in my shop...when you get a chance come by for a visit @
