Red and White Kitchens and Gingerbread

Ok I have a confession...
I may like the color red! And I love gingerbread...

Red
 is a happy cheery color...
it is festive!
feels a bit vintage...
I KNOW NEUTRALS ARE IN FASHION...
BUT
I Have a red chair at home in my dining room...so I thought one in miniature was the natural thing to do.
And I have a rolling pin...with red handles in my kitchen...so I painted the handles of the little one below...

And did I mention my love for polka dots?   they are very sweet too....
My kitchen in miniature...has some similarities to my kitchen at home...red and white...
except I have more dishes to wash...

I finally tackled polymer clay food...watched 2 dozen YouTube videos on how to make cookies, pancakes, syrup, hamburgers, jam and preserves...
And I am embarrassed to admit...I have had to throw several things away...shame shame...
My pancakes looked at first like flying saucers...
my icing looked like blobs of white...goopy...disgusting stuff....
But I am a woman that is determined...
And Yes I even burned some things. Who knew that polymer clay burns?
Who knew that?

My real kitchen below at the holidays...
I love little ovens, and little toys, and little baking pans...

I feel like I am learning a new language trying all these new things...but I am having fun...when not throwing things away in disgust...I am trying to broaden my skills...hahaha...we will see.
blessings,
Debbie

Free White Christmas Subway Art and little things...

Hey everyone!
Has anyone been over to PicMonkey?
It is fun to play around with their graphics, fonts, and winter designs...and it is free.
This is a free printable for you...for the winter cold weather we seem to be getting lately!

If I could decorate a Christmas bedroom the way I wanted to...I would have
a fireplace, an old window, shutters, quilts, trees, lights...
so I decorated one in miniature with all the trimmings.

I adore red and white...so it only seemed natural to have those be the main colors of the room.
A sweet little tray with Hot Cocoa fixin's for chilly nights...
Pretend snow balls in a pretty red basket.
A little sign that announces the special date....

Little Christmas cookies ready for nibbling...yummy...I love sugar cookies. Alas these were made out of polymer clay and don't taste too good. Hahha~!

Another thing I have started making is Blythe doll bedding. I had not realized how big the Blythe doll craze was. A couple customers asked me if I made doll bedding for this doll size, so I decided to jump in. There are entire blogs and websites completely devoted to this doll. Pinterest has thousands and I mean thousands of pictures of Blythe dolls. Who knew?
Of course she had to have a tree in her bedroom too. You should see the American Girl doll bedroom...that is another post...
Here is a tiny miniature dollhouse bench (about 4" across) I painted. Added a gingham checked quilt, little pillow with Christmas stockings on it...and a snowball ornament!
Last but not least my favorite gift...is always a hot cocoa mix in a jar..in real life. But I started thinking...how cute would it be to do this in miniature? So...I made little marshmallows...added some peppermint candies (clay) and chalk to look like hot cocoa...
all with a bow, a button and a tag...
for your little doll!
I need to think about Christmas for my big house...
but not for a few more days~ smile!
Blessings,
Debbie
