Shabby bedding and linen hutch

I don't know about you but I adore pillows...
White, shabby, rustic, elegant.
For some time I have been collecting wedding garments from Thrift and consignment stores.
Never paying more than $20.00 or $30.00 for a wedding dress, etc.
If they have exquisite beading...I'm in!
Above, the second pillow has a snippet of a gorgeous wedding dress...
from the 80's...you know with the puffy
shoulder pads...
but oh the beading on the sleeves, bodice, and long skirt...all hand done...
So I added it to one of the miniature dollhouse pillows...
for something Princess like...

The hand painted panels which I adore are from
Caroline @ Cinderella Moments

She paints beautiful little pictures for a shabby vignette, room box, dollhouse, or shelf grouping....I have already started a collection with her lovely work. Be sure to take a look!
She graciously bought a sheet and pillow set from me to use in her latest cottage.
She is an artist, you can see her blog  @
She handpaints roses and even has a tutorial on her sidebar, so you
can learn how to paint them too.
Uhhh mine looked like blobs of paint...yikes!

Love lace edged sheets....
I think I might have to sew some for myself in grown up size!
A woman needs a hutch to store her linens...
I took the pillows off below so you could see the surprise! It is the sweetest little trundle bed!
How sweet is this?
How about a girl's sleepover?
Oh my!

Free Farmhouse Rules Printable and a little tour

Here is a free Farmhouse Rules Printable for you.
Click on the picture so it will open in a new window, right click and save to a picture file on your computer (otherwise it may open up as letters and codes).
Then print on card stock!
We do live on a farm, several cows-milk three of them, gather the eggs, wash them, carton them, deliver them to different stores. All the animals are fed and watered each day...(several hundred of them).
We start early...
and drop into bed each night!

Several hundred chickens produce several hundred eggs a day.

Pies are always a favorite at our house...

I do wear aprons while in the kitchen...it spares my clothes the mess I make! The ones above are just for fun.
And I change up the shelves where they hang for the seasons. It is my favorite little area in our farmhouse. Makes me happy when I walk by it! Spring...

Vintage aprons and tablecloths are my favorites!
Especially Red and White!
And if a farm tool breaks its handle....no worries...
I will repurpose it somehow!

Redecorating a redecorated room---What?

We just redecorated this room....and now....
Last summer, our daughter married her high school and college sweetheart...which caused us to remodel her room. After all...when your baby leaves...you need a project.
A really really big project!

So her pink room...went from pink and black cuteness...to a guest room. We have a huge family...that loves to come and visit....hahaha...so a guest room was fitting.
We decided to go calm, neutral, soothing colors....
this is from last fall...

At Christmas I changed out the bed linens for a winter theme. See on the armoire....my daughter's wedding shoes, bouquet and little wedding purse....
All gotta go! Waaaah....
and it was so cute with Christmas greenery tucked inside...
big sigh....

Then we recently found out our middle son, pictured below on the left...
is moving home...to be closer to his sweetheart. And get a job here in California.

Here is another picture below at Christmas time,

So I have sadly but happy too...removed the little twinkle lights...the white fluffily canopy...satin pillows...sparkly decor...
Not sure how it will end up...but my guess is a lot of computer plug ins and cords...and power strips...for his iPad, IPod, computer....blah blah blah....hahaha

Hey two out of three are near us again...and I'm a very grateful and blessed mom! Yay!

A little fall-Miniature plates, silverware, pumpkins....

It is 100 degrees here today....but my heart and soul are dreaming of fall
apple cider,
pumpkin pie,
hot soups with crusty chewy breads....

This silverware/flatware below started it all. I found the most adorable miniature flatware and knew I needed some for my miniature tables cape. She is from Canada, and we found the more we communicated back and forth about miniatures that we had much in common in real life. Here is just a sampling of some of the cuteness Jennifer creates. I've already purchased some in Red for the upcoming Christmas season. https://www.etsy.com/shop/WindyPointMiniatures
I love tablescapes first of all....found my love for them over at Susan's @ http://betweennapsontheporch.net
Below on the little buffet is a tiny version of my favorite picture on Pinterest by Sugar Pie Farmhouse where she has adorable white pumpkins spilling out of a bucket...

And if that wasn't enough I had to get little cookies to complete the look. They can be found along with other holiday cookies here @ https://www.etsy.com/shop/miniholiday
Jen creates these adorable little cookies...I just love them!

Creating and Designing Little Quilts

IN January, I decided on some new traditions.
Work a little bit more, waste less time, accomplish some things I have always wanted to do!
One was to create a cottage style dollhouse as a backdrop for selling my miniature bedding and tablescape sets.
Aren't those three panels on the left of the little dining room amazing? I ordered those off of Etsy from
https://www.etsy.com/shop/cinderellamoments She paints the most WONDERFUL little pictures for vignettes, dollhouse, a backdrop for  a shelf and tiny goodies...and her dollhouses are whimsical and things that daydreams are made of. I confess I have ordered a few things from her and intend to order more...(cough, cough, when hubby isn't present)! Hahaha
She has a beautiful blog too @

I have also sketched out some quilt designs for my little doll beds. I have several orders for those at the moment. Love making them. This is just one of my sketches...
I'm already thinking fall and winter colors for little quilts!

There is a tutorial here if you would like to see how to make this sweet little quilt.

Doll quilts and doll furniture, no matter the size tend to make me happy!
I'm a songwriter professionally and wanted to publish some music, which I am in the process of doing. I am a worship leader at church and our church sings many of the songs I have written...ongoing process though of getting them published! It is a wonderful and glorious feeling to hear your song being sung by others. A bit of heaven here on earth.

Next I wanted to do something from home...since I  have been taking care of my elderly parents. Had to change job scenarios to one that would work. Even though my father passed my mother requires quite a bit of assistance... I needed to do something...that would work...

I love to sew and create and decorate... doll beds, doll quilts, doll houses....doll ovens...
Pillows are often stuffed and hemmed at a Doctor's appointment.
Lab waiting rooms find me hemming a little quilt....
I especially love Shabby Chic inspired doll bedding, pillows, shams, furniture....oh my the list goes on and on!
Most of this lovely fabric is from
Kerri has wonderful fabric to (drool) look at!

Ruffles, little rosebuds, tiny bits of lace added to pillows and comforters. Or how about French Country?
Love little crisp white sheets edged in white lace.....

I decided to put more effort into my Etsy shop doing things I love.
Instead of watching T.V., being on the computer (Pinterest is my weakness)  or thumbing through a magazine...
I decided to sew...and sew...and sew...
It is not replacing a full time job by any means
it is going better than I expected.

My thought was this...
how many things could I create in one year?
