French Country Decorating in Miniature

Little canisters, signs, dish towels...In the kitchen and bedroom...I've been doing some decorating...with France in mind.  A bit of Farmhouse, a little bit of French Country. There is just something wonderful about this style.

It is rustic but with a touch of elegance, everyday lived in look. I love checked fabric.

And French Script writing is just lovely to look at....I don't even know what it says but I love pretending to read it.
I have been decorating a little here and a little there...
And then there are linens in the bedroom, fluffy pillows, crisp white sheets, comfy bedding...a cozy chair for snuggling and reading a good book.

The picture above the bed is a serene scene, warm browns and creams.

Distressed farm table for setting your books on or for getting things ready to take with you each morning.

At the end of the bed I put a blanket chest, a hope chest of sorts, with extra pillow and blanket storage.
Glad you came by to see my new decorating project.

Shabby Chic Miniature dishes, sink and hutch

I've been doing dishes..
Lots of dishes....

I have Shabby style hand painted dishes at home

and wanted to make little
dishes with roses.  So I painted and decoupaged and created little china dishes.

Of course one needs a china hutch to store the dishes in.

Tablecloths are a must too!
Fun creating little things...I'm loving it!

Little miniatures make me happy!

Well I have been on a journey! A sweet little journey. Creating what I love....miniatures.
Joining in today http://modvintagelife.blogspot.com/

As a little girl I was in church many nights, my dad was a minister. I was always allowed to bring a tote full of toys....but only little things....after all my playground was a church pew.

My imagination made up rooms filled with beautiful little furniture....
while I provided the dolls and accessories.
In reality the church hymnal was the wall to my imaginary dollhouse. My moms' purse a headboard to a doll bed...

My imagination baked little cupcakes on my miniature toy stove....
My imagination ate meals from little tables set with dishes...
and oh the dollhouses I imagined on those pews....
several years later I decided to do something about
those little dreams....
I love Shabby Chic so why not miniature Shabby Chic?

I love pretty beds, and tables layered with table cloths and table runners....so why not have them in my little world?

Pie safes loaded with dishes....oh just thinking of the options makes me happy! I had opened an Etsy shop a long time ago....so why not make things to sell that I Love?

 A little French country....
....Shabby and Cottage Chic....

Why  not use vintage sheets for doll sheets?
So...I decided if I could create now what I loved as a child....what would I make.....what kind of dishes would be on the table? What kind of bed linens would I dream up?

A Little sewing, painting,  and dreaming......

.....I'm creating.....which makes me very happy....this needed to happen a long time ago....but I waited and waited.....I should have taken this step ages ago.  It is a good step....I don't want to regret that I never got the chance to make things I love.
Are you dreaming of anything? Should you make a step? Towards something you love? Please let me know....
I have gotten inspiration from

Cynthia-http://cynthiascottagedesign.blogspot.com who I met through blogging a few years back.  Years ago she showed the cutest little miniature refrigerator...I was in love...Her miniatures are beautiful.

And then recently...Susan  posted about her mini's here@
Again I swooned!
I just knew I had to do something....
So my journey is ongoing,
I hope you enjoy my story.
On my sidebar is my Etsy shop to see other goodies.
Let me know what dreams you need to be pursuing!

I love red and white...and thought...with all the jar paintin' going on why not paint my Mason Jars to look like red and white enamelware?
So the DIY is this
Paint your Lids glossy red-Spray Paint by Krylon
And the Jars Satin White-Also by Krylon
So easy...I love this look...you can tell by this post that I love red and white!

For spring I had just painted some jars pink and then planted little flowers in them. After Mother's day I planted the flowers in my wheelbarrow. Saving the jars for another time.

Getting our porch ready for the  weekend!

Graduation and Happy Days!

You know most days are good and then there are some days that
are Incredible.
We  had an  incredible weekend at our daughter's graduation.
I'm so proud of our daughter...yay!
My family...
Our two sons are the ones with dark hair and the blonde son is my wonderful son-in-law.
My middle son on the left is with his high school sweetheart...we
are just waiting for them to get engaged...etc. Our older son
is now Pastoring our church with his wonderful wife....
I did a bit of crying at the graduation.
It was so moving to see all my  kids together...
fulfilling God's plans...

happy and messing around with each other...
it just got to me.

Matthew 6:6 says if you seek the Lord He will reward you openly...
I felt very happy and rewarded.
Just had to share!

Well with that out of the way there is only one more thing left....GRANDCHILDREN....
clearing throat....I try not to make hints...but .....
