Is that a rusted hoe in your kitchen?

What is that in my kitchen?
Hey everyone joining in with
For hanging things up with priceless junk!

We live in a farmhouse with a
 Barn right outside

so it shouldn'tbe too hard to accomplish that.
I have always enjoyed farmhouse, barn style things in the house, on the patio, in my sewing room.

Hubby will ask me where something is...
and I routinely say....hmmmm it should be
around here
somewhere!
yeah it's been painted or planted
in...

Bwahahaha...

I can't lie to the
man
after 32 years of wedded bliss...cough cough!
When things fall off their handle...why...they come  inside for their second chance at life.

Outdoor on the patio, I added a plant holder onto a fence post and now use it as a lantern holder.
Voila!
More fence posts....I love them...that and shutters....with peeling paint....

The rake below holds chalk for the message board.
Outdoor we have coat hooks that hold towels for guests while they are swimming....they also hold canning jars that we use for lighting.
IN my home office...I hang baskets from an old shelf I got when we first got married. The baskets hold paper clips, white out, paper hole punch...staples...little things. The notes pinned on the bottom shelf are from my dad years ago....sweet little notes he wrote to me. I look at them every day!
Thanks for coming by!
Blessings,
Debbie

Vintage Toy Baking Center and Tablescape

HELLO EVERYONE! In the midst of organizing....I found a little time to redo our kitchen.

From Christmas to something a little cheery.
It is hard putting everything away that is Christmas related and still feel happy...when everything looks bare.
*************************
So I decided to gather up all my little vintage play stoves and toy baking supplies and make a vintage toy baking center of sorts.
From little kitchen hutches and toy stoves, to baking pans and little rolling pins....it seems there should be some baking going on!
I sort of tuck the little muffin pans here and there in little vintage wood containers...
My collection of toy stoves are tucked into shelves, on top of hoosiers and dish cabinets....and onto our refrigerator which you will see below...
Vintage napkin rings hold my red checked napkins....and the sweet little white plates are from Pier One. My wonderful sister in law Karlene always gives me the most wonderful Christmas gifts that find their way on my table.
And the red cake plate...she gave me that too...

Oh and have I mentioned...we live on a real farm, with hundreds of chickens, several milk cows, geese, turkeys, peacocks (the kids gave my husband the peacocks for Christmas!)....
so there are always a few feathers around...and in egg cartons.
Joining in with these wonderful parties!
Blessings,
Debbie

Some of my favorite organizing blogs....wonderful ideas, good motivation.  They just seem to help right about now....that I'm cleaning out, purging and arranging drawers....

How about you?
I DECIDED THAT I WANT A GAMEPLAN....LIKE A FOOTBALL COACH....BEFORE I GO INTO THE GAME....
The game plan is this....

2012 Collage-projects and decorating!

Hey everyone! Happy New Year. Excited about what the New Year will bring.....Here is a picture overview of my projects and decorating in 2012!
Joining in with Debra @ http://www.commonground-do.com

We remodeled our kitchen this past summer. Notice above the vintage hand painted dish on the right...hubby's grandmother did that!
Vintage toy stoves above our fridge, vintage pie safe from Pennsylvania...

Valentine's Day decorating on my shelves...notice the color of the wood...that is what the whole kitchen had on the cabinets....
Guest bedroom got a Valentine pillow to spruce up the bed.

Spring brought sweet little bunnies...everywhere!

Then summer came...

I just love little vintage toy stoves!
Built a pallet shelf for the outdoor patio.

Pillows made out of ruffly shirts found while thrifting...
A wonderful daughter got married to her high school sweetheart...
the little flower girl tried to nap while walking down the aisle...

Fall brought baking little pies...which are always stored in a small pie safe.

Shelves above received fabric backing for added decorating.

And Christmas brought our precious family home.
Blessings to all of you this  year!
Debbie
