Wow, since my daughter left...I was just going to paint her room and get some different furniture for it.
You know to make a nice peaceful guest room.
Well....we started renovating our whole downstairs...kitchen, dining room, hallway, guest bath, living rooms (2 of them) and her room.
Her room is painted light mocha (the color of coffee with creamer in it!)
I've been looking at lighter colored rooms and kitchens for ideas....light cabinets with dark knobs, or dark rusty looking fixtures.
I love Paula's kitchen below with the distressed cabinets and this is where we are leaning. I would prefer shabby chic/farmhouse style but hubby can't handle all the white.
So I suggested Paula's look...distressed (lighter but not white) and the dark knobs. We have dark speckled laminate (looks like granite but isn't) and dark appliances with a stainless steel restaurant style fride.
This look below is where I would land my airplane so to speak if it was only me picking the airport...
but I have to make Mr. Farmer happy.
He has been so sweet to me since our poopsie left.
He let me pick out paint, mirrors, furniture, all kinds of things. Keep in mind our daughter is gone in a happy way but we both lost our fathers a couple months ago...so we are both needing a big project (or projects.) And we both realize it. Getting things ready for the Holidays now is good. We cook a lot so we needed the kitchen fixed.
I find that working and dropping into bed at night is good for my soul.
And so is newly painted kitchen and cabinets! hahahaha! I love to decorate, renovate, collapse, nap and then start over!
The painter has started in the kitchen..
hubby said he didn't want me painting (he said that I'm cranky when I paint) hahaha....WHAT?
...ok so I will stick with decorating, renovating, (Starbuck's breaks) and napping!
