Dreaming of Fall-Decorating

Summer is still very much here as far as the weather is concerned...but I'm starting to think a little bit about fall.
I don't know about you, but when the hustle and bustle of the summer months starts slowing down,
and the school routine sets in,
evenings start to find themselves indoors...
I find myself puttering in the kitchen, adding vintage cooking items, baking something that smells good, moving things
here and there...
I realize it is time to do some cleaning to get ready for the cooler months.
Put away the
beach towels and pull out warmer toned towels and linens. Bring out soft throws, rich colored pillows and quilts...
During this time
I start to think about how I want my house to smell....
Bring out candles for cozy evenings...
how I want my house to feel and look, maybe  I will work on a stitchery project or two. I like to use darker colors for the fall months, and I pack away the light and airy fabrics that I use during the summer.

Also during the summer I often plant flowers with fall in mind.
Rich oranges, golden yellows, deep reds and rusts...

fall colored flowers
always give my heart a lift when I drive up and
see these blooms overflowing their planters.
The metal vintage chair, metal bucket with flowers....
This old rusty wheelbarrow probably carried many supplies for the farmer that owned it.
It is so old....the style of tire on it isn't even made any more.
I can't snuggle just yet with cuddly quilts, the evenings just aren't cool enough....but soon...

I can see that you love fall and are already dreaming and preparing for it! I love it, too, and plan on bringing out my decorations a little earlier this year. After all, with the mild winter and short spring we had, it feels like summer was SO long!

Hope you are having a happy week!

I am having the same dream. My hubby says at least wait until Sept. I love that saying about families. I am going to put it on my fridge.

Well, here in northern Idaho, the nights are almost always cool enough for quilts! Your fall decorating *IS* very cozy though and I will admit, I'm *almost* ready for Fall!

I'm trying my very best to hold off until weekend after this one to decorate for fall, but it's hard! I'm so ready! And it inspired me to do a fall giveaway....so come enter so you'll have more to decorate with (plus there's yummy smelling stuff in there too). :)

Love for my house to smell cozy during fall like you too!
