Very difficult but wonderful...

My sweet daddy went home to be with his Savior this
past week.
Very precious being with him and my mom right before he passed.
My dad was a wonderful man of God....kind of like a football coach.
****************************
He said we were never going to give up and were always going to serve God. That if you get knocked down you always get back up and head toward the goal.
The goal was always living for God.
When I was little we traveled to different churches, he would speak, and tell the greatest jokes(and preach too..hahaha, I just remembered the jokes!)
I loved it. Loved all of it.
Last week I felt very strongly that while we knew he was declining, that I wanted our family to  quote scriptures and sing worship songs to him during this time.
There is a scripture that says God inhabits the praises of His people...
***************************
I thought if we were holding his hand...singing or playing soft worship music, that God's presence would be in our home...
------------------------------------------
and then...the next hand he would take would be God's...
Wonderful...
Very hard but very wonderful.
Blessings,
Debbie

Oh, Dear Debbie, I'm so sorry to read this! But what a comfort knowing he was a Christian and we do have the promise that we'll see our loved ones again. What a lovely tribute to your Daddy. My Daddy went to heaven in 1996 and I still dream about him. My heart breaks for you. What sweet pictures of your family and I know you're that darling little baby and little girl.
Blessings,
Shelia ;)

So sorry for your loss. What a beautiful post. I, too, was blessed to be raised by a sweet man of God who preached the Word. So special that he went to see Jesus surrounded by a worshipping family. Blessings to you during this time.

Debbie,

Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of your dear father. What a handsome man he was.... Although we miss them like crazy, faith gets us through. I remember when you moved your parents in with you in order to care for them. What a blessing that was, wasn't it? I miss my parents so.....

((Hugs))

Debbie, I know your life will be so busy at the moment - I know because I lost my Father-in-law 3 weeks ago. I think I just went into automatic pilot and to get everything sorted. Hope you are coping ok and your family are doing ok.

Debbie,

May God's peace and love be with you and your family during this time. Knowing that your Dad is in Heaven is such a wonderful Blessing and gives you peace. To know he is rejoicing with Jesus. I am sure he is telling jokes to the angels. Always remember his love of serving Jesus and making sure his family was in Church and serving Jesus. Remember his laughter, his love for your Mom and you, and his jokes, this will keep you going. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Doria

Sweet Debbie, I am so sorry for your family's loss. I can only imagine how proud your Dad was of you, and your wonderful husband and children. Bringing your parents to live in your home must have brought your dad so much joy, and such a blessing to have you all with him at the end. You are all in our prayers this evening. Love, Andrea
