A Puppy-Best Christmas Present

Hey everyone....I cannot even tell you how cute little "Bella Pup" is!  My hubby really surprised me this year. I've said over and over how I wanted a little puppy since all the kids were gone...you know something little and small to sit on my lap while we watch T.V. at night. He constantly had reasons why this wasn't going to work.....grrrrr....

And then on Christmas I was told to close my eyes by everyone and when I opened them....this little bundle of preciousness (yes that is  a word!) was placed in my lap.

Awwww so sawwwweeeeet! Thank you sweetheart...I love her!

I'm busy potty training...hahaha...

Debbie

Christmas will be different this year...

Our Christmas already is different….

We lost my father and my hubby’s father

within 3 1/2 weeks of each other this year.

I have found that things have happened

simultaneously this

year....

good along with the heartbreaking.

My father was an amazing man of God....gave

me a strong foundation...that is a good thing.

He is gone this Christmas....

So I decided....

that this Christmas I want to be the

strong foundation....

along with my husband...

for our family.

Showing our kids and their spouses....rough

times come....but what is deep within is what

helps us navigate this life well.

*****************
That something

deep within...

for me is

the Christ in Christmas....

****************

Christmas will be different...many have lost

little loved ones

recently....

For me personally....

I have decided

to be kinder

more patient

gracious (while waiting in line for the next

cashier)

use a softer tone when speaking to

people...including my husband...

and be loving regardless of my inner sadness at

my loss...

just be loving....daily....

**********************************

Our children will all be home from college and

out of state

and for that I thank God,

thanking Him for the blessings of our family

being home for

Christmas.

Glad that I can kiss my children,
kiss my family,
kiss my hubby,
I am grateful this Christmas....
Do you feel the same?

Blessings and merry Christmas,

Debbie

Christmas Farmhouse Tour 2012

Thank you for stopping by for a visit!
We have some important traditions at our farmhouse each Christmas.
One is WE ALL COME HOME FOR CHRISTMAS.
Many of our family is in the ministry or works at church, so it is difficult
at best to take off...but somehow we manage to be together
at Christmas!
http://cottagemagpie.com

We plan a wonderful meal and everyone brings a special item that they are good at making...
and loads of deserts.
All the little ones open gifts first....
when we are done,
we all join hands and pray...
for the coming year and all it will bring.
The most important tradition is keeping Christmas Nativity oriented.
We read in Luke the Nativity story about
baby Jesus...we have a lot of little ones so we keep things quick and moving right along!
