My new wall with Wall Vinyl Words-Tutorial

Hey everyone! Hope you are warm and snuggly right now! It is raining, sleeting, trying to snow here in the mountains of S. California.  We usually get snow after Christmas...but it is coming!
I've seen many pictures in blog land of Vinyl wall words, combined with gallery photo walls.
So I decided to jump in and do my own.

I ordered my words..special order because I couldn't find what I wanted...on Etsy. You could look for hours, but I finally found Tamara @ http://www.etsy.com/shop/itswritteninvinyl
She was very kind and helpful, and very reasonable I thought.
I told her I wanted a scripture and how I wanted a couple of things that were different.

She asked for measurements...how big I wanted it...where it would fit...etc.
Directions were very very easy.
I measured from the ceiling down to the line of where I wanted to start...and then I measured and
drew the tiniest dots on the wall that I could see...I lined up the paper...kind of like contact paper...one side is sticky and the other side (with all the squares) is what you end up peeling off.
You tape the paper in place...which you have already placed the paper along the
tiny row of pencil marks...marked of course very lightly...

Next you carefully (without disturbing the tape) lift the paper up to remove the backing...peel off the backing paper and....
you then place the paper back down and begin to rub the letters into place....the page you are rubbing down will come away once the letters are on the wall. I used a popsicle stick.

Pull remaining paper away from wall...it is slightly tacky...which is good...it doesn't move around at all while you are rubbing your words onto the wall.  Below I accidentally cut the words apart and snipped off part of a letter...but not to worry...
I held it in place...and rubbed it where it needed to go and...
Voila..you can't even tell I made a booboo!

I started to peel the paper away slowly and one of the letters started to come off with the paper so I layed it  back down....rubbed it some more with the popsicle stick and the paper came off find without the letter!

well...just not quite right...still lacking...
Once it was done I felt like it needed more...so I emailed Tamara and ordered the word Family and put it above the scripture. I like it much better now.  I wished I would have gotten the scripture in a  'bolder' font. But I just love the look on the wall!

My gallery wall is where our Grand piano is...this is the place where I write music and practice for church.  So I love looking at my precious family while I play.

And my new piece of furniture...I found out by the barn...an old weathered ladder...for all my quilts. Yay...I love new and old, and rustic, and a little farmhouse decor tucked here and there!
Thanks so much for coming by for a visit!
Blessings,
Debbie

I think it looks terrific. Good call on adding the word Family. I like the verse being more delicate looking.

You found the perfect scripture for your wall. The mix of photo styles is very interesting, and I really like how they go all the way to the ceiling.
