Hey everyone, we are actually away taking poopsie back to college....waaaah....I feel like such a big baby...everyone is laughing and having a good time and inwardly I'm counting down the days and hours till I have to leave our kids....they are all back here. The boys have graduated and are working and loving being adults, poopsie is in her 3rd year...enjoying college....and her sweetheart is going to go to college with her. All is good.
But my heart feels kind of funny, like I wish their childhood wasn't quite over, wishing there was just one more sporting event, one more prom, one more awards assembly...
but there just isn't...
So at home before we left I was rearranging the entire house....
needing to organize my thoughts by organizing rooms, drawers and cupboards...tops of freezers, shelves...you name it, it is getting organized and reaaranged!
And the rooster picture from the calendar, that has called my name. Not sure what to do but I am going to make something or use that lovable face for a pattern. The wheels are turning...
I will be home soon, to a house with no kids for the time being....my heart hurts a bit...and it is happy at the same time. Simultaneous...tears and laughing...joy at where kids are in life but sadness that I'm so far far away...waaaah...
I sound pitiful.
Blessings,
Debbie

I have the blues too!!!!
Oh I so understand. It is so hard when they are all away and you don't have all the hustle and bustle of everyone underfoot and around you. Hang on to those sweet memories. God Bless. Hugs, Marty
Always a rough time in life, sending kids off to college. Our youngest of four starts college in a couple weeks but he will be staying in this city and going to a University nearby. I always find tweaking and moving things around the house helps take care of lots of things. I guess it takes the mind of from the outside world. Good therapy, that's what I call it. lol. I have been crafting some things(Santa giveaway on my blog), and that always helps. Good luck with the "new year". Blessings~ Sara
I think school should start after Labor Day--that way you'd have more summer with your family!♥♫
So fancy!!!xx
Debbie, I totally understand what you are feeling. Sending you hugs.
I've got one returning to college in a couple of days, and another child moving way across the country for first job in 10 days. When the kids leave for college I usually have to cry a few tears and feel sad for a few days. After that I adjust to life without my kids at home. But this year it's just hitting me like a rock, with one moving away. This isn't just college anymore.
Aww...Debbie! I'm sorry your little chicks will be off to school! I know the feeling. But on a great note, you can bring your laundry room to my Roosters/Chicks party next Tuesday.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love the little cherry teapot.
Hang in there, love! Change is never easy but adjustment comes! ♥
