How about a sweet little pie for your mom, mother in law(love),
aunts, grandma's....someone special...you?
I got some sweet little vintage canning jars...
and decided to make some sweet little gifts for the
ladies I adore.
Mom this is for you (she has already eaten hers!)

I first saw these a few weeks ago and knew I needed to try this! http://www.canningwithkids.com/blog/2011/03/jar-pies-apple-pie.html
Best pie crust recipe...here
I used a basic apple pie recipe out of the red and white Better Homes & Garden cookbook...
Each jar only took a couple of tablespoons of filling.
After I put the little pie crust top on I dabbed egg white on the tops so they would brown a pretty color in the oven.
I printed out some scriptures and cut them into tags, tied with a bow on the little jars for each guest.
Be sure to see my post yesterday for the vintage Mother's Day table I set with black and white photos, pearls, silver and other vintage
pretties.http://ribbonwoodcottage.blogspot.com/2011/05/vintage-black-and-cream-table-with-old.html
My mind is buzzing with ideas using these little jars for other baked goodies!

Please feel free to use this idea, in fact I googled "individual pies, canning jars" and found loads of articles with the cutest
little baked pies! You can find loads of
jars in every size at thrift stores...but here in
California they run $1.00 a jar so it's better to buy new.
