White and Red...Roosters, Enamelware galore...

What a beautiful day we are having here in S. California. There is snow everywhere but the sun is out and the sky is gorgeous, crisp and clear!
It is Rednesday over at~
and White Wednesday with Kathleen at
Little aprons, big aprons, little stoves and miniatures I have a fondness for. And if they are white and red I squeal with delight!

Blessed with a vintage rooster and chicken collection....
outside we have several chickens and are getting ready to get several hundred more for egg laying. Then we sell them at farmer's markets. Fresh eggs are amazing!
White chickens at our place lay white eggs and the Rhode Island Chickens we are getting lay brown eggs.
Eggs are the same no matter what the color of the shell. But brown eggs can have a darker yolk.  If your egg holds together in the skillet it is probably very fresh...when they splash and are watery they are usually a couple of weeks old.

So glad you came by for a visit! Blessings,
Debbie

I have a little confession to make to you, I used to not like chickens. After my bed and breakfast egg gathering experience I now want my own. Hee, hee and they are slowly creeping into my house. I love red/white graniteware and all your cute pie things! Looks so farmhouse cute!

Hi Debbie! Oh, I love seeing all of your sweet red and whites! I really love your Roos and chicks. And to think you have real ones who lay eggs - well the chicks! :)
I'm so glad I could comment. I have come by many time and for some reason I could never get to the comment box. I thought maybe you had turned off your comments.
Whew!
Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
