Was that God I just heard?

it is about Miracles...

it's about heartfelt stories....

I have a miracle story...

Real quick...

I was taking kids back to college, my 80 year old mother was making

the trek across 5 states to get to our destination with us.

We had prayed...together....Psalm 91

"God I pray that you will be with us on this trip

keep us safe,

I pray that these kids will arrive safely

and as your word says in Psalm 91 "No evil will befall us...that you

will give your angels charge over us"

Midway through the trip....

driving 70 with the flow of traffic...

the freeway all the sudden narrows to one lane....

I sped up with the intention of passing the truck

next to me before the lane ended...

when I heard a loud voice

"DON'T DO IT."

Was that God I just heard?

I quickly realized I had nowhere to go but off the freeway

and promptly crashed into large orange barrels and a cement

divider.

The car behind me (with all the kids)

crashed into my car.

As I watched the traffic zip by...

I saw that there was not one truck but a line of 20 trucks

one behind the other

....I had not seen the entire line....

I hadn't seen the whole situation.

It was pouring rain, and I jumped out of the car to

see if the kids were hurt....

we had after all been driving

70...in the rain....

and we had crashed hard.

The police were there....shocked we were alive...

the kids

were crying and very upset....

my mom was fine, not hurt at all.

I looked up toward heaven and fussed at God!

I told him...."I just prayed!

I just prayed your word

over all of us. That we would be safe!"

Look look at this crash

look at these kids..look at the cars."

I raised my hands in desperation and said

"God, I prayed that we would be safe

and that no one would be hurt on this trip!"

Then I heard him speak gently to me and say

"Debbie, show me who got hurt...."

I looked at the kids, crying, upset....they were all

safe...

no one was hurt....

I reminded God of the crash, and the now ruined cars...

He reminded me of what I asked for and prayed...

He reminded me that was the prayer He answered.

He was with us all the time.

I pray more specifically now...over us...the cars...other cars...

Blessings,

Debbie

"Call unto me and I will answer you and show you great things that you don't know...." Jeremiah 33:3

Such a beautiful story. In my 20's I was driving a barely driveable u haul on the interstate with my 6 yr old daughter. The van was coughing and sputtering in the middle of no where. I was not sure we would make it and began praying in earnest. Out of no where came a moving van from a company based out of the tiny small town I was moving to 3 states away. I knew then things would be ok. We arrived, barely, but we arrived at our destination.

Happy Pink Saturday, dear Debbie. Thank you for making Pink Saturday special, and for taking part in this day of celebration and thanks.

There truly are miracles going on all around us every day. We just have to open our hearts in acceptance. Thank you for sharing one of your life miracles, and thanks to God for keeping you all safe from harm.

A wonderful, but frightening story. The good Lord watches out for us, if we would just trust more and keep our faith In this day and time, that is not easy.

Happy Pink Saturday Debbie Sweetie...
For our miracle weekend celebration what a beautiful story to share. You prayed over the cars and the trip, yes there was a horrible accident but everyone walked away, everyone. Isn't God wonderful? He watches over us every step of every day of our lives. He answers when we ask, he fills the corners of our lives with light like we have never seen before.

Thank you sweet friend for sharing today. You have touched my heart with your story. Also reminded me living in a big city as Phoenix, that I too should be praying over my trip each day to and from work. Thank you sweet friend.

Please stop by and leave a comment on my blog, as Guideposts Magazine is donating a $1.00 for each comment left on my blog as well. I so want to make enough money for another dozen Miracle Makeovers. Please send your friends by as well. I love meeting new friends and I love to share.

Many hugs sweetie...Sherry

This is a beautiful post, Debbie - and one your children will never forget. I have a few of those driving miracle stories myself that my kids still talk about! It's been hot down here, too. It's always so much fun to look at your blog. I can't wait to see what you do with your quilt pieces. Blessings, Patti

Hi Debbie:
Thats an amazing story. I am so glad you were all okay. I had something similiar happen to me on the road and it was like someone was talking to me to not change lanes, like I wanted to do. An 18 wheeler behind me couldn't stop and ran the red light in the lane I was wanting to switch to. He would of crashed into the rear of my car.
