Farmhouse Whites

FARMHOUSE WHITES

Kathleen @ Faded Charm
is the wonderful hostess for this White Party!

Recently I had a dear friend visit who is amazing at decorating...I moan and groan when I walk through her home. It is just plain lovely...things match, put together like a professional decorator would put things together. Furniture that is just lovely...not over the top...just lovely.

Nothing matches...or rarely does in my home. And I seem to like the mismatched look.
I think God must have made me that way too. He gifted me with a musical gift...writing music...playing the piano at church and I love it. I also love to decorate, sew....plant flowers...getting my hands filthy dirty with mud! But when people come over to visit they are surprised to see me muddy and dirty...a little sweaty...compared to what I look like at church.
But haven't you found that most things that you love come with hard work? A little sweat? And flowers come after you have dug around in the dirt...pulling weeds...getting rid of rocks.
My life seems to be a like a garden at present....
Lots of hard work....
weed pulling(getting rid of bad attitudes)
watering (replenishing my soul with good things)
and then waiting(for God to answer my prayers)
And ....slowly I see little flowers come forth
The harvest...finally shows up
And it is beautiful...

... the things I bring into my home are for the most part...mismatched...some old...some new...
All cherished and loved....
I love pies...real ones...fake ones....and I LOVE little play stoves! hahahaha....I'm not sure why...my heart swoons at a toy stove!
I love stitched things and I usually have a stitching project going....
I found these little plates at Salvation army with the sweetest little kitchen items imprinted on them.

Everything here from thrifted stores....my little treasures....that I love. My home has been put together lovingly...mismatched..but lovingly!
Big smile.

I'm glad you came by for a visit to my farmhouse
Blessings,
Debbie

Mine is a mismatched house too. I love the way you put your mismatched things together though. You're a talented decorator yourself.
Blessings,
Marcia

Hi Debbie,
I have really enjoyed reading your lovely post today and looking at your beautiful treasures.

I really like mismatched. I've never been a matchy matchy type girl. I'm with you and I think we should live with the things we love.

hugs
Sissie

I really enjoyed your post today. I like mismatched as well. I like for things to look like they have been collected over time.
I have been doing some weed pulling myself and I found where Chuck Swindol addressed this. I posted it this past Sunday on my blog.
Somehow it just spoke to me? Ever have that happen?
Have a blessed day,Annette

Vintagy white on white decor is so peaceful. When I see some of your white pictures, I feel relaxed. You have such talent and energy for finding good matches among the mismatched.

Love all your whites! It's good to have things a little mismatched... like you've collected your treasures over time. The flowers from your garden are beautiful!
Happy belated WW!
