How much did that Tablescape cost?

Hey everyone! Welcome! Can you believe the summer is half over...it is for us at least!
Our kids go back to college the second week of August! Waaaah....
We've had a houseful of college kids home for a bit and it is wonderful....lots of cooking and lots of dishes!

Today marks the 100th celebration of Tablescaping in blogland! Can you Beeeeeelieve that? Yipeee for Susan the amazing hostess that started all this commotion!
Playing along with Susan@
She is the wonderful hostess of this blog party!
Everything to do with this tablescape but one~is from thrifting. The little blue salad plates under the white salad plate is from Walmart. but the napkins, napkin rings...dishes...placemats and tablecloth~All from thrifting! I adore fabric napkins and also napkin rings so I pick them up all the time. If they are the wrong color~they get spray painted!

I have stocked things up after awhile...so this tablescape
is very inexpensive...yipeee.
I love that don't you?
My husband sat down with a bowl of cereal this morning and like any spouse of a blogger would ask....Did you take pictures of your table yet? buwahahahaha...
I love that man!

See you soon!
Blessings,
Debbie

How many flowers do you plant?

COME ON OVER!

Playing along with Kimba~A Soft Place to Land!

Welcome once again to our patio. We are spending a great deal of time out here...my parents enjoy visiting with the kittens and our dogs out here.
Line a drawer with plastic or plastic planters and then fill with flowers to overflowing...

We have lived here for many years...
but it has only been in the last few years that I have gone flower crazy...and do you notice the containers filled with flowers?
That is because of planting tons of flowers only for them to be EATEN by the petting zoo (gophers and rabbits!)

For some reason my rose bushes are safe...
I love my little chest of drawers overflowing with flowers above...instead of socks!
An old rusty bathtub is filled with annual flowers and also planted with wildflower seeds that will be in full bloom for fall! One metal tub that I will show later is filled with seeds that will bloom~orange and yellow flowers, pumpkins and small gourds for fall. I can't wait.
Below the flowers are enjoying growing in the leftover chicken feeders!

DIY~Spray painted Birdhouse

The back of our patio is a hill that is covered with ribbonwood trees(hence the name of my blog~Ribbonwood cottage)...the bark looks like ribbons trailing down...but at the moment...this flag is covering them up!
We had a leftover door that I painted white, and then taped off with blue painters tape...and spray painted the red and then the blue areas. The metal star is from Joann's Fabric store.
I love being outdoors in an area that you feel relaxed in! Come over for some ice tea and we can visit sometime!
If you like stitchery see what I'm doing on my stitching blog...

HEY COME BACK FOR PLENTY OF NEIGHBORLY VISITING!

A wonderful way....

I'm linking up with Cindy to share a favorite scripture...
Her new blog is wonderful!

When I had my oldest son within minutes the doctor came in and said he probably wouldn't live through the night....he was trying to prepare me that my baby would most likely die! My hubby and I had already been praying for our son before he was even born.... and prayed
that God would use him in a wonderful way....

"There shall no evil befall you and no sickness come to your home...He will give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways..." Psalm 91:10, 11.
Our son lived through the night....God kept him that night....he was very ill, but every day he got a little better....
he just graduated from college, is working in an incredible church with his wife and
God is using him in a wonderful way....
Blessings,
Debbie

Cottage Garden Decor

This bathroom has been a long time coming....when we moved my parents in and
added on to our house on the ground floor for them...we were able to build a bathroom
on the second floor where we now would be.
I mostly used things that I had to decorate with....old garden items....a newly painted old piece of picket fence....
a leftover hoe that was missing a handle....
The cabinet was an old cabinet that held a playstation when the boys were young...the shelf...borrowed from my mom and newly painted...
But I did get new towels with little ruffles on them from Target's Shabby Chic line. I love them...don't use them...but I love them.

The little green bird was sent to me from my wonderful friend in Kansas city...every time I visit her I want to redo my house! Her house is beautiful from top to bottom! Thank you Gina!
The large white piece was from a thrift store and a steal...yipeee....painted it white....ocean green inside and added new knobs.

I have lots of old plates....so they now adorn the walls...

Playing along with these great blog parties! Please visit for inspiration....you will love what you see. And the hostesses are absolutely wonderful!
