When you live in California....you get used to a little shaking every now and then. But not usually on Easter when all the family is in the middle of an Easter egg hunt!

Today the light fixture swung to the left and to the right..oh about 3 feet one way and 3 feet the other way and then we felt the shaking! Our family was together for Easter....having a wonderful time...and then all the sudden... there was a loud bang then pictures and mirrors tapping on the walls, windows rattling...it is usually loud and then the shaking is hard and fast. I have to say...it isn't usually scary but you are focused where you are standing and is it safe.
I have only seen the road buckle like the picture above once in my life (picture from general earthquake damage photo collection). That is not common. The water in the pool however did a little Tsunami and splashed out quite a bit.
All in all everyone is safe! Thank you God.
We do live right on the Andreas Earthquake fault
so shaking is common....but this was a little
unusual! In fact I don't think we've
ever been in such a big earthquake as we were today! Yikes!!!!
Blessings,
Debbie

Glad to hear you all are ok after the earthquake. I have been through many of them (I used to live in So. Ca.) and I can say I do not miss them. I once watched my block wall become like a wave. Another time it was like the wind blew through the room and the sofa lifted and sat back down. I do understand.
Glad you are ok...we felt it here too! Chandies were swinging back and forth....and we are quite a ways away!
So glad you are safe! i thought of all my blogging friends when I heard the news!!!
Glad to hear you're safe. One thing I do NOT miss about living in the Bay Area. (We now live in the Sacramento area)

Just had to stop over and say that I put sweet pickle relish and some of the "juice" in my egg salad too! Nice to "meet" you and glad you are o.k.! We used to live in La Jolla and felt a few rumbles while there.
Best,
Bonnie
So glad you are all ok. I have been in several earthquakes having lived in San Diego and Los Angeles, they are always a little unnerving. Hope you had a Blessed Easter. Hugs, Marty
Good to hear that you and your family are okay. Wow, look at that road. Amazing.
Oh, Debbie, I'm glad to hear you're all okay. This must have been so scary!!
I've never been through anything like this before.

We heard about that earthquake too. Did not feel it north of the Bay Area, but we also heard some felt it in Sacramento area. Have friends and family who did feel it though and one of them is in Arizona! I am glad all of you are okay. I love your header picture. That is a gorgeous photo! Have a great week and stay safe.

Glad you are all fine. I heard about that big earthquake there. When we lived in California I felt a couple of them....very eerie feeling....like your equilibrium is off.
Hope you all had a wonderful Easter egg hunt after the shake!!
