Make your own Birdie Canister!

It's way too much fun...this Saturday nite Special...come play along and visit!

Woohoo!
~I've gotten a lot done this week. Oh yes I have!!!!! I painted our guest bathroom(backbreaking)...which I will post in a couple of days, and redid this book shelf by adding scrapbook paper to the back of the shelves.
It added so much to the look of it. I had gotten this shelf at Walmart for 29.00 and put it together but it was just plain looking.

I like it so much better with the paper in the back. Next I wanted to add some jars to hold bathroom items like soap, Qtips, cotton balls, etc. I'm going to make a few I think...wink, wink! Afterall.....what blogger can stop at one project? Big smile!
I took 2 jars (Walmart) and a couple of birds (Joann's) and hot glued the birds...

to the lids. I also made some for my kitchen which I will post next week with roosters.
After I hot glued them together I spray painted them with Metallic Spray paint (Rustoleum-Oil Rubbed Bronze). It is the same color as all the fixtures in the guest bath. I also used the spray paint to re-do the light fixture...which I'm waiting on to dry! It is so cold here!

I love how it turned out. I'm debating about making a couple more but with larger jars....
Sorry this turned out blurry! Yikes....

I'm also playing along with~

Thanks for stopping by my blog! The rake idea is cute, but I have a son who, I know, would run right into it and an ER visit would be around the corner! LOL Very cute idea though! Maybe when he gets a little older I could use that one. I love your birdie cannister, very sweet! I just bought two cans of the oil rubbed bronze paint day before yesterday. Our Walmart tends to sell out of it VERY quickly, that's why I bought two. I've been walking around the house trying to find things to transform! :) hee hee hee I love paint, I call it a miracle in a can! :)
Have a blessed day! You should link your birdie jars up at my blog... cause I love em' and I'm sure others would too! :-)

Hi Debbie,
Those jars are sooo cute. I'm lovin'g them somethin' fierce!!

Try looking at a Ross for the Bordallo Pinherio bunny plates. I just viewed a lovely post this morning where the gal also set a table with them, in green. She said she picked them up a Ross a few weeks ago. I also bought mine at Ross but last year.
