Pink Dress Garland

Hello everyone! Wooo what a week. I have been an organizing maniac...I will post pictures later...but I'm pretty proud of my (ok some) cupboards and pantry! And yes I did (need to) buy some containers to put things in, other wise how do you corral small things?
Well I had to do something fun in between throwing away 145 tupperware and rubbermaid lids that had no mates. Oh boo hoo. I buried them (in the trash) and said a few words (*****) on their behalf. I feel so much better now. I found things I hadn't seen since my my younger days....wedding gifts to be exact. But some of them had to go....after all why would you keep old towels from the 70's, a plastic clock, a pitcher with a crack in it....it just HAD TO GO!
I have always loved paper dolls, sewing doll clothes...and decided to make a little girly garland with the word love on it. I looked for a pattern on line but finally just free hand cut a dress pattern. Then I pulled out glue, paper punches, ribbon, lace, bows and letters and voila.
Now you could use prim colors, papers or fabric, or go shabby with more white and cream. But I loved this idea. I also thought about doing a little girl's name!

A closeup of the sweet little paper with dolly dresses on it.
This was thin batting, I added glue and then used rick rack on the front.
Thanks so much for the visit.
I'm playing along today with our sweet hostess Beverly....@ How Sweet the Sound.
Blessings,
Debbie

Good for you getting organized. This seems to be the month. And after I get all of my holiday decor down, maybe I will have time to clean out a cabinet or two! Ugh...;-)

Love your little garland. It is fun to play like that, isn't it? You have such a creative side, Debbie!

Hope you are warm where you are at. Seems everyone is having a bit of a cold snap...

This is a lovely idea - but I'm sidetracked by all those lids with no bottoms... what happened to them all? Why save the lids? (enquiring minds... who love to read a lot of mystery books...)

Happy Pink Saturday & Happy New Year!

What a great idea. I'm beginning to think that storage container tops are like sox. A pair goes in but only one comes out. It's a mystery for the ages :-). I love your post. Have a great Pink Saturday.

Ahhh parting is such sweet sorrow. I am always certain I can covert trash to something updated and useful ~hence~ the car does not fit into the garage anymore.
Sweet sweet sweet dress banner!

I'm a day late and a dollar short☺ Was able to leave some messages for Pink Saturday yesterday and finishing up today. Over the holidays I was MIA from PS and really missed it but knew that I wouldn't be able to visit many blogs. I'm back today and must say that it feels so good to visit familiar places - like coming home again.

Today you made my little, pinkie ♥ smile. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely blog. Hoping this next week is filled with sunshine and the laughter of friends and family☺

This is just darling! How clever and creative. Wouldn't that be cute in a baby's room with their name on it??

Good for you for getting all organized. That's next on my list after I finish our bedroom makeover. Closets are a dumping ground right now for all our bedrrom stuff. They are defintely needing organizing after that!
Have a great week Debbie.

Hi Debbie,
I just love your little girl dress garland! How precious...I thought you were going to say you used tupperware lids for the circle parts you put the letters on since you had just cleaned out your tupperware closet LOL!! I stumbled across your blog while looking for inspiration for a project I'm working on...
Blessings,
Debbie

Debbie, I'm absolutely loving your dress garland and I would love to make one for my new granddaughter with her name on it. Please tell me if you only used scrapbook paper for the dresses or if you backed them with some sort of heavier card stock, etc. What are the dimensions of the dresses? You are an absolute genius for creating this garland and sharing it with blogland. Thanks so much,
Loretta
