I moan and groan about the emptiness. After all I love the Christmas feel...all the little lights, glittery ornaments, beautiful tablescapes....and then there is NOTHING! So I played around and changed things up a bit. Above my bookcases in our living area (they are filled with exciting farm manuals...HOW TO TELL IF YOUR CHICKEN IS LAYING...how to help sheep birth....aye yi yi) I usually have tons of ivy tendrils spilling over the book cases...but I took them down and added candles, silver, and little plaques.
Next I added several topiaries (Have you been to Angies blog @http://thehappyhomebody.blogspot.com/ she decorates with the most adorable topiaries!) to fill in some empty areas. I dropped the bucket below and yes it has a dent in it....moan....
This is my black and white wedding wall. Relatives far and wide grace this wall...especially if it is their wedding and they are NOT smiling!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE CHIPPY PAINT!
This is my favorite quilt I made a few years ago (Thimbleberries pattern), it hangs behind my computer so I can stare at it when I go offline...which is often. We live in the country so we go offline at any given moment....especially when I am trying to load pictures. Really I think it is God's way of teaching me patience...or rather my lack of it! Big smile.
"Patience is a virtue
Catch it if you can
Seldom found in woman...
NEVER found in man!"
Here is the topiary transformation.... I made these with styrofoam cone shapes. They were green and in the florist section. I wrapped them with ivy till they were covered. Then I placed them in pots. The raffia one ended up a little WILD looking..I'm not sure I like it!
Here is an amazing site to see how they made several topiaries for different occasions You will love this!

Yes, I can totally relate to my house feeling so NEKKID! I have empty spots all over since the Christmas stuff is gone and don't know what to put in them. It's driving me crazy! What you have done looks great and I love the topiaries! You are so sweet to mention me. I am off to check out that site now. Goodnight!
Hi i lovew your blog and love your decorating i also like chippy paint especially white.I also know the naked feel after christmas i am still trying to re arrange my cottage.
I feel the same way Debbie. I love the glow of Christmas lights and now that everything is down and put away, it is kind of dark.
I really like they way you have things displayed. You are a very talented decorator.
Enjoy your day.

It all looks fabulous and not nekked anymore!!!! Hope you are having a wonderful Thursday Debbie.♥
Love your vignettes, they are all just stunning. The topiaries are wonderful too. I like the rafia one too, it is different and I like that. Very clever. Hugs, Marty
I actually LOVE the rafia one!! It caught my eye first thing and I thought "I hope she says how to make that one".
I too hate the nekkidness of after Christmas. I like what you have done. Thanks for sharing. And thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment.
