CRYING, BLUBBERING, ORGANIZING....you name it I'm doing it!

Here I am a few years ago....

Yes I am a farmer's wife....I didn't know how much of a farmer's wife I would be....some information was witheld from me before I married him almost 30 years ago. He was handsome and I was moved by his funny but mature disposition....the smile got me every time!

The first time home visiting his parents I put on my designer jeans only to find myself shoveling manure onto a garden we would be planting that afternoon....They of course were laughing hysterically at the window....

My makeup dripping, jeans torn, cute little boots smelling to high heaven..

It was the beginning of a true love affair....(Mad + Love = Madly in love)

He of course loved buying farm animals to build up 'HIS FARM'...The animals of course loved chasing me...especially the rams...that's another story!

I hope that you are doing good! My little poopsie just left this morning, my little Whitney Rose....I found myself starting to cry a couple times at the airport....I thought this would get easier after the initial departure in August for college....but alas I did a little blubbering and blowing of the nose. Yes it was embarassing, but what can I say...I'm a mama!Mr. Farmer was a little weepy too...

So what better time to start a new organization plan, keeping myself so busy that I drop into bed at night! If your busy with a new project you usually don't have time for crying and the sniffles!

Seriously...I'm in full blown cleaning/organizing mode! Walls, floors, light fixtures....I feel DRIVEN!

I need a few baskets or containers, but farmer hubby threatened to make me plant a field of cabbage if I bought any more organizing tubs...without organizing.

He made an 'ugly' comment to me, I'm still not over....something about buying all the organizing tubs and gadgets but never organizing.

I then said to him...."Do you want to look at all the unfinished projects in your barn?"

The nerve....He looked shocked! Oh yes I've looked in the barn!

I laid down the shovel and other farm tools in a loving manner.......after chasing him through the barn....and told him "things were different this time" To which he made a humph sounding comment.

Even the roosters and chickens wondered what in the world was going on!

Mr. Farmer better watch his farm tools....he may find them hidden in the sheep pen...in the muddy yucky part....know what I mean?
Nothing like sewing to clear my mind! So I found a tutorial to make these cute storage containers out of sturdy fabric and interfacing! I love it. I will use fabric that is a little more country or shabby chic!

The amazing tutorial can be found here. You will love this site...look around there are many interesting things to make...they all looked easy!

Thanks for coming by!
Blessings,
Debbie

What a sweet and funny post, Debbie! Thanks for a good laugh this dark and dreary winter afternoon.
I totally understand the blubbering part. I'll be doing plenty of that when my son leaves for college in the fall. It's got me thinking about it already.
Blessings to you~ Birgit

Debbie,
I loved the photos that you added to your post! lol They just heped to make the post :)

I know what you are talking about, though. The hubby makes comments like that to me, too and I mention the shed and get told pretty much where to go! lol I have the whole house to care for, he has a little shed! Yes, I have my messy areas in the house but I try to hide those messy areas. I mean at least when someone walks in my house they don't see those places...just open the shed door and it's pretty obvious it's not organized! lol

I LOVE that tutorial! That might be something I could really use. Aften has this cute double door pantry in her room, painted white, that houses so much of her stuff. I need boxes to organize but nothing is really cute like I want it OR I refuse to pay the price. I could make my own and they would be the EXACT size, color and design I want! Thanks for sharing!

You crack me up. I get when they leave. God knows me best. Our daughter and son in love lived in our apartment behind our house the first six months. Then moved and we hardly heard from them or saw them. So I got a dog! Wonderful cure for me!
I came over today to invite you over to check out my newest idea. Trade Days on Tuesday. I have a post up telling all about it. Come over and check it out maybe we can trade!
Have a great week.

Morning Debbie,

I LOVE this post and story. Too funny!! I think your bins are going to be adorable and will hide any clutter you need them to.

Mr. Farmer better get his barn projects done if he is going to keep up with you!!!

I bet it is always sad when your young ones leave to go back to college. No matter what they will always be your babies!!!♥

Debbie, Debbie, Debbie my Friend ~

This is a darling post...too funny. I do the same thing...buy tubs and then don't get around to organizing...but this year is different...can you feel it in the air...I am really in the mood to downsize, organize and toss away...all the STUFF! And your good attitude about it makes it much easier and motivates me.

I am thinking of you missing your daugher...I wish I could tell you that it gets easier...it just makes our hearts grow larger and then they hurt more...right?! Gotta love us Moms!

Have a great day...by the way, you win post of the day...this was a great one!

Your little story had me laughing and I loved the photos that went along with it. My oldest two went back to college yesterday, and it seems kind of quiet around here now (well, as quiet as it can be with 4 kids still here). You're a blessing!

Hi Debbie,

I stopped back by to tell you I am complaining like your children are in this frigid cold weather!! In Southern Oklahoma (where I am) it gets cold but only for one or two days then it usually warms back up. I feel like since Christmas Eve (when we got the blizzard and all of the snow), I just can't get warmed up. Layers upon layers of clothes and the wind just roars right through them! Earlier it was actually 21 degrees outside but with the wind chill felt like -1....BRRRRR. That is just TOO cold for me!

Darlene said...

My minus is on a different line. That would be -1 degrees.

Debbie,

This was the funniest blog I've read in a long time. We must have the same vibe going because I'm trying to organize tool.

Nowadays, My spouse and i went along to the Halloween party shop, plus some Mexican woman (where I live, nearly all customers are from Mexico)... was having a new Louis Vuitton dark epi noe.... quite cute.... it turned out really used, but nonetheless attention grabbing... My partner and i LV N51105
congratulated your ex throughout spanish and she thanked me personally pertaining to preference your ex "Epi", great so ?... LV is a universal object/language... hahah.... She congratulated my own Trouville.... Strange issue was, I had created by no means really followed the particular collections throughout the Epi natural leather....
