Pink and Chocolate-Quilting

I have been perusing google images....I love pink....love chocolate....love quilting.....
I found this sweet quilt at Quilting Melodies.
And I am TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH FELT FOOD. There are patterns for this little creation...at Etsy! Type in felt food or felt candy...you won't believe the wonderful goodness you will find that is calorie free!

This pattern below spoke to me! Hahahaha....make me...buy me...you need me...come on....
(Fat Quarter Shop)

Oh.....I'm groaning...these strawberries are so sweet and cute! Find the pattern at Ericas.com

The same for these little tasty cakes!

Join in on the fun for Pink Saturday! Beverly over at How Sweet the Sound is our amazing hostess!
So I had to go to Joann's and pick up some pink and chocolate brown fabric...just a little since I already had quite a bit of pink fabric in my stash!
I cut out squares and hearts.....and started sewing like crazy.
First a chocolate heart on a pink square...and visa versa...

Then I stitched the blocks together...

I'm not finished but I love how it turned out. I have set it aside for now....
Please if you would say a little prayer...I have been at the hospital all week with my mother...Doctor is not sure what is wrong.
Thank you sooooo very much!
Blessings,
Debbie

Helping my parents remember....

Good morning~
This is outside our back door....wow...I ran for my camera as any good blogger would do! Big smile.....don't we all carry our camera in our purses just in case?
We woke up to sparkling white...us and the chickens (below)...

I love the white, love that we were able to stay home and enjoy the beauty of it....

Here is our barn, chicken pen, hay for the sheep...our driveway is to the left...
and then the add-on to the right of the house....close but not quite done. We are anxious to move my parents in so that they can enjoy some time together without all the work of keeping up their big house. My mom said she gets tired from all the work of taking care of their home...

I want them to enjoy this part of their life. They have been so faithful in so many areas. My dad is a minister who has memorized thousands of scriptures! He has a photographic memory and spent his early years memorizing 5-10 scriptures each morning. It bothers him that he is having trouble remembering them now. He said he felt sad that he can't remember where to find things in the Bible.... So I have decided ....
I will help him remember....
My dad has been a great person to be a minister...loves everyone...knows thousands of jokes and funny stories...and he lives in a way that honors God (and his wife.)
I want to help my mom enjoy her life, lighten her load....
help them both remember their kids love them....
help them remember that God's gift to us all is this life...
every day is a gift....
and I will help them remember that.
....the snow makes everything look beautiful....
Have a blessed day!

Pink pink you stink....

Just a little flooding here in S. California outside our driveway!

Hubby asked "What is that smell?" I said what smell...he said he smelled glue...oh brother...it is Mod Podge! I had dripped it everywhere...I'm a bit messy...sloppy...eager to finish the project...working way too fast (not quite the speed of light) and I drip as I go....on my clothes, shoes, floor, counter top.... I bought several dollar frames at Michael's and one scrapbook pad and oh the projects I have been Mod Podging...(new word)...and dripping....yes I had to scrape up paper towel I had Mod Podged to the floor...ooops...darned stuff really sticks...hahaha

Next I Mod Podged wood blocks....

I'm going to put my kids pictures in these. I love pulling out frames every year to decorate with and look at them and remember how young they looked...how young I looked...oh my...I'm turning 50 this year. But I'm still 12 in Leap Years(I'm a Leap Year baby) so no real birthday for me this year.

Make-Shabby Valentine Pots

Welcome to my little farmhouse! I'm in decorating mode...like most of you probably are. I am working on Valentines for all my sweeties...college age kids...but they still like to receive chocolate...hahaha...and usually a small gift card in a sweet Valentine card. I wanted to do something a little shabby...with a Valentine flavor to it.
So here I took some terra cotta pots and painted them white with craft paint that was white! They dried very quickly. Next I found some free vintage Valentine cards on line and printed them off onto cardstock. I usually go to Google Images:
And type in:
FREE VINTAGE IMAGES, VALENTINES
FREE VINTAGE IMAGES, ROSES
(Very thrifty decorating.)
These would be an easy and inexpensive way to decorate for a baby shower, wedding shower, birthday party...etc. Fill with candies, small gifts, pencils, little tablets, pkgs. of gum, shower gel, hand cream, lip balm....
I find what I like and print it off onto white or beige cardstock.

Next I had to cut the images smaller...they were a little bigger than what I wanted.

I then decoupaged the images onto the pots...I watered down my white paint quite a bit and painted over some of the images because they were too bright.
I decoupaged the Valentine images onto the front and then a regular image on the back side so that after Valentine's day I could turn them around and use them.
Next I filled them with silk flowers which I happen to love.

Thank you so much for coming by and visiting! Have a blessed day.

White, Shabby, a tiny bit of Valentine Red...

Hey everyone! What a day we have had....a great deal of torrential rain and of course mudslides! Thank goodness we are up on a hill that is mostly rock and not near the beach where at least 1 or 2 homes slide around during these kind of rain storms! But doing farm chores in the rain and mud is not my idea of fun....so hubby was on his own today! (quiet giggle)
Today is a little white...a little vintage...a little Valentine goodness! I started collecting white enamelware when I fell in love with it during a blogging visit to Leslie...my country gal friend!
I adore red and white...and it is a little vintage so it fits me good!

But I have to stop and BRAG a minute about my hubby and what HE made me for breakfast!
We are avid FOOD NETWORK junkies. Yesterday we watched several shows and he got motivated (which could be dangerous for my thighs!) and made these little babies for breakfast. I woke up and smelled something delicious!

They tasted as good as they look. They are cinnamon sticky bun rolls-Barefoot Contessa's recipe. He used store bought biscuits though and flattened them and then added cinnamon, butter, pecans, brown sugar, rolled them up and put each one in a muffin tin....oh my goodness! I felt set free for several moments. I couldn't believe this man had cooked such scrumptious goodness! Yes he is a farmer...but the man was taught to cook by his mama and grandma! God bless 'em both! Big smile.

Every house should have an apothecary jar with chocolate in it! Oh yes sirreee!

Hey thanks for coming by this lovely day! I am playing along with Faded Charm...be sure you see her wonderful blog and other gals playing along with White Wednesday! Hope you have an amazing week!
Blessings,
Debbie
