Oh my Gosh! I am so happy. I am loving all things vintage...and here is my favorite thing that I own...ever!
My grandmother handmade this quilt....hand appliqued....and hand quilted. I'm not sure if she used a machine to sew it together. She had an old treadle machine. I still have a couple of stuffed animals that she made me one Christmas from that wonderful machine.
I am joining in at this wonderful blog for Vintage Monday!

I was gone all weekend with my parents. My dad is a minister and had a ministry obligation, so I took my parents to it. I didn't want them driving when I knew the weather would be questionable. I came home late last night and saw this!

y hubby also surprised me and had outdoor lights up! Hahahaha...I about

OMG the quilt your Grandmother made is beautiful! Your very lucky to have such a wonderful memory! It's good for husband to miss us. Warm hugs, Esther
I certainly can see why your quilt is your favorite thing ever! It is beautiful. And how sweet for your hubby to surprise you ~ Thanks for sharing. Judi
Your quilt is beautiful, and I also think your lucky to have it.
We are getting snow and more snow and more snow. We get your storms. By Tue they are saying it will have moved to the midwest. BUT, it sure brings the feeling of Christmas huh?
Enjoy your day.

The quilt is beautiful Debbie. My mother sewed on a treadle machine when I was little. I remember sitting in her room and watching her pump the treadle. I have one now, but not the one she used. You got snow too! It's been looking (and feeling) like it would snow here, but nothing yet. Maybe tonight.
Blessings,
Marcia
The pointsettia quilt is such a wonderful heirloom, love that teeny tiny hand stitching, it really liven's up the atmosphere. So sweet. I'm such an old quilt fan! Happy VCM!

Wow, I absolutely love that quilt! I've seen a couple Christmas quilts on different blogs, but never in person. I hope to get lucky enough to find one some day. What a wonderful keepsake of your Grandma's! And you made me laugh about your hubby having the lights up when you got home! Sometimes they really can surprise us, can't they?!
Happy VCM!
Carol

Happy Vintage Christmas Monday. xo Joan, your hostess
The quilt is beautiful. We are up in Northern CA and had 11 inches fall on us yesterday. Today, so far, no new snow, but we do have black ice. So....hot chocolate, cookies, Christmas music and sewing are the order of the day.
That is one wonderful treasure! What a blessing to have too. cherry
Debbie, The quilt is beautiful! Wonder how many hours your grandmother had in making it? Amazing treasure that you now have of hers! ~hugs, Rhonda :)
