Tablescape for fall and dining room.

Hey everyone! I'm lovin' fall and enjoying baking and a little cooler weather! Finally!
Here in my dining room I seem to have too much! I love plates and have a few collections in my 30 years of marriage. Hubby actually likes plates too and was raised by a mother and grandmother who collected plates and handpainted china. So plates are considered special in this farmhouse. We have also raised our boys (kids) to appreciate plates, china, tablesettings, etc. We also taught our boys (and daughter) to be comfortable saying "I love you" to all their aunts, grandparents. I've wanted them to be comfortable when it came time to be married to say those words! Here is our kitchen, the heart of our home! We laugh, visit, and have family meetings here. Our farmhouse is large but we end up here most of the time. It is a happy room filled with wonderful memories and food.

Above, the brown fabric napkins are from my favorite consignment store. The napkin rings I found in a marvelous thrift store in Palm Springs (surprisingly the thrift stores were disappointing there.) The dishes are mostly from Walmart during their fall season dish surplus. The placemats were from Target a few years ago. I love fall colors!

This little squirrel is one of my favorites....I love wooden items and wish I knew how to use a skill saw....I play the piano at church so I can't enjoy this hobby unless I was willing to take the risk! hahaha....that's a big no.
Have you participated yet in Susan's Tablescape day? Maybe you should give it a try. It is loads of fun!

Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Debbie

Debbie, Thanks for the sweet comment. Yes, there's a lot of dishes and laundry at the Lace and Ivy Cottage, with 9 kids it's a fact of life. But I'm glad to be back in blogland where I could escape it all for just a few minutes and meet lovely ladies like you! Love this tablescape and the ones before it too!

Debbie,

Your tablescape is so pretty and perfect for fall. I love all the colors and all the little fall creatures and berries and leaves...wow, you did a fabulous job!!

I love coming to your blog because you always mingle in family to your posts and it shows how incredibly close all of you are and how much respect you have for your love for one another. It is an important lesson in life and you have shown me that you have made it number 1 in the lives of your children. I'll stop now...but

Our kitchen is the heart of our home. If I ever had to move I would take the kitchen with me!!

Have a happy week, Debbie!!
