Lately I have had these thoughts....even dreams....hubby says I talk about spray painting in my sleep....how would he know? The man snores and thinks that I talk in my sleep? Again how would Mr. Motorboat know? We are madly in love....mad +love = madly in love! Big smile.
With all the burlap excitement over blogland...I decided to jump on board with the blogcitement (my made up word) and make something...I even dreamed about this!

I took a very old stencil (Blue Ribbon Stencils), black paint, and our bestest friend Burlap and joined the three!

I worked and worked (for about 15 minutes) and made a table runner. I had so much fun, I tore up some nubby muslin and made napkins, no hemming here! I went for a rustic look...Mr. Farmer (alias Mr. Motorboat) was amused...said his mother would never use napkins that weren't hemmed. I told him his mother would never wash all the eggs I wash, chase sheep all over 3 acres when they get out, get up during the night and help lambs be born, and pick up disgusting things in the barn!

Then he changed his tactics and said "He liked the way the napkins turned out!" hmmppphhh!
Remember, my kids are at college, we are trapped in the house together! Big smile! hahaha

Anyhoo back to Diy (Do it Yourself) or DIM (Did it myself) oh yes! I like DIM
Next, I'm in to cake stands, cake pedestals, cupcake pedestals....I'm lovin' making these things. One for every holiday!

All you need is a plate, candle stand, and my friend...Mr. spray paint!

Glue them together, add a little trim, I even spray painted the lace black since I didn't have any.

Right now I am just using the pedestals for Halloween and Fall decor, not food! Spray paint and food aren't usually an appetizing combination. Big smile!

Oh I love the sneak peek at the table runner and napkins. So cute. I also really love the cake stands. That look fabulous. Great job. Hugs, Marty
Your DIY projects are adorable, but I really love the conversation between hubby and you. I would say good for you girl...you came back with a good one! My hubs snores too, jerks and other various things and then he tells me I moan in my sleep. Give me a break! I tell him he better watch it cuz no court would find me guilty if they heard him snore!
Debbie, I am in love with that runner and with the napkins. How CUTE! The cake stand is also clever.
Happy Met Monday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
I love the burlap runner. I cheated and bought one at PB but have been thinking about stenciling it. After seeing yours I think I will. Thanks for sharing. Blessings, Rebekah
I can't wait to see them on your table. Where do you come up with all of your great ideas? I'd never have thought to spray paint the lace. It turned out great!
Blessings,
Marcia
Hi Debbie, funny post and great projects! I can't believe we have to wait until TT for the reveal of the runner and naps!!
I like DIM!
love your napkin holders. I have this on my list of things to do right now. I would love to see more of the table runner.
LOVE your DIY post today, Debbie!! I just won a crow from Pennywig's recently, and this tablerunner would be so cute to go with it now!!.. What a bummer though.. It's kinda hard to think about decorating when I'm surrounded by moving boxes! Maybe I'll get to try to make one before thanksgiving anyways, or just the technique at least for Christmas, right?! Hope you had a great weekend! ~tina
Debbie, LOVE LOVE LOVE the little teaser preview of the table runner, napkins, and cake plate. You are so bad! I can't wait to get a good look at them. :)
I can so relate to your comments on being madly in love!!! LOL!
Very nice work! I love the little birds on the burlap runner and the matching napkins. That cake stand is also perfect for Halloween. Thanks for sharing your craftiness with us.

I love that black bird on the napkins, wow what a great look...
I LOVE those little birdie napkins! So, so cute! What a creative lady you are :).
cute, cute, and just so cute!
Oh you really did do it yourself! That runner looks like it will be so cute, and your cake stand is great! I would never have thought to spray the trim too. Another thing you did yourself is give me a smile. I just love it when an in love woman can make her in love husband ashamed of his remarks! laurie
Now those are some really crafty creations!!!

Oh! You did an amazing job! I especially love the napkins. And...there are 3 absolutely beautiful women in your family: mom, daughter, and daughter in love. ;)

I love the table runner. I still haven't gotten on the burlap bandwagon. I guess I really should. And I love DIM better too.

I love these, Debbie! That little cake plate is absolutley adorable, as is the napkin. Both great ideas! I havent seen anything like the cake plate and it really fancied it up. Fabulous! I invite you to join in Thrifty Thursday with this great ideas. Be sure and link back if you do. Have a great day, sweeet friend!
Debbie,
My husband and I must be madly in love too!! LOL Sometimes we're so in love, I sleep in the guest room.
Your table runner is beautiful. I may have to steal that idea. Love the napkins too, with or without the hem.
What a great idea about the cake stands for different holidays too.
Hugs, Gretchen
I love it! I wish I had those stencils. I'd whip one up myself.
I like your inspiration of making a cake plate for every holiday! Tell us, do you use a wooden plate or is it ceramic?
These are super adorable. I would love to have some of these. Can't wait to see your finished tablescape. From the little sneak of the pedistal and new linens, it's going to be fantastic!
