Someone please help with an answer...

I don't mean to be dumb....but....could someone point the way for me....to figure out how to do blog buttons? You know on your sidebar...when a blogger has labels, or posts, or photos...and you hover your mouse over their button and then it takes you to all the labels, or photos, or whatever. I am researching and have learned a lot but I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!
I've learned so many computer skills by blogging! But I'm at a loss on this one! Please someone direct my car in the right direction (big smile) and I will end up at the right direction...maybe hitting a few pot-holes along the way! But I will get there!

Thank you
Thank you
Debbie

Oh Debbie, there are no dumb question! I'm waiting for the answers you receive because I too have been unable to add a button to my sidebar either!

Hi Debbie. I don't know if this is THE way to do it but it works for me.

Start by copying the bloggers address at the top of the sceen. You'll paste it in later. Then do the following

1. right click on the picture for the button and choose save as JPEG. this will save the pic on your computer. Make sure you see where it's going or set up a file in your pictures folder so you can find it later.

2. Go to you dashboard
3. click layout
4. choose add a gadget
5. choose picture

A screen will pop up that gives you a place to put a title or caption if you want one. And a place to add the picture.

It also has a place to paste in the link you copied earlier.

6. After putting in the info you want click save in that box, then click save on the layout page. It automatically goes at the top but you can arrange it just like you do the other things on the side bar.

Hope I didn't leave anything out. I think the boxes that show a code under some buttons gives you a link to the picture so you don't have to save it on your computer. You just put that code in the gadget instead where it asks for the picture.

Have fun!
