Next I used modge podge to apply the label.

I shredded newspaper to glue on the lid for the nest.

Next I put together the shredded newspaper on the lid and then glued the bird on top of that. Put the finished lid on top of the jar and voila...a crow canister!

For the tray, I used spray paint and scrapbook paper. I love polka dots and try to keep it stocked in my supply room!

I only spray paint the edges, then apply modge podge, then smooth the paper on, working carefully to not tear the paper. I have found that the thicker scrapbook paper works beautifully, and never gives me any trouble!
I'm trying to make my room more inspiring to do the laundry...buwahahahaha (http://theinspiredroom.net/ )Be sure to check out Melissa's Life is Beautiful post on making your home more inspiring!
Here is a better view of the tray. I love it. I did add a final layer of modge podge over the paper once it had dried.
So glad you came by...thanks for the visit!
Have a blessed day!
Debbie

Hi Debbie~
What a great idea...on the canisters and the tray!
Everybody has trays like that laying around collecting dust. What a great way to make use of them!
I will definately keep this in mind when I get mine out!
Thanks...Have a great weekend!
This is all so cute!! I need to get some black spray paint ASAP:-)
Very fun and creative! Nice that it was easy to do, too (those are the best). Hope you have a good weekend!
(I'm having a shopping giftcard giveaway today, if you're interested).
What wonderful jars your created. I have always hated birds of any kind but for some reason I am fascinated with crows. I have jars similar to yours so I might just have to get me some crows and fancy up my jars like yours. Thanks for the neat idea.
