Welcome, it is a beautiful hot day here in S. California (104 degrees). But in my heart I am dreaming of a cooler...crisp fall day...where the leaves are changing....the smell of apple pie cooking in the oven...peaceful music playing in the background.
This project is ultra easy....messy ....but easy. I worked by my kitchen sink because it was easier.
I used:
a pumpkin from Michael's last year when they went on sale....
Matte Modge Podge
and various strips of Halloween and regular scrapbook paper in
Blacks
Oranges/Rust
Cream/White

I cut the scrap paper in strips of paper and then tore them into thirds. I tried the long strips of paper...but it was easier working with shorter strips.
I brushed on Modge Podge in long strips and applied the paper.

Yes it's messy....

For the most part I loved how it turned out....I might do things a little different next time....I'd like to try and do a patchwork pumpkin....with square designs...

I topped off the pumpkin with a sheer black wired ribbon

Today I participated in DIY with Kimba!@

Hi Debbie,
That turned out so cute!!! I am wishing for cooler, crisper weather for you. We usually have that hot weather but it has been WONDERFUL and cool here! We have had to wear light jackets in the morning and at night!!
Great idea!! I see those pumpkins at thrift stores all the time. I'm going to pick one up :)

What a clever idea! I love getting sticky with ModPodge so I may have to try making one. A good project for my grandchildren too.
