This monster of a sunflower really was big....on my front porch....finally had to remove it. No one could walk by it! What was I thinking?
On the DIY day over at Kimba's I noticed someone made the cutest sign out of a picket fence peace and stenciled the word "Beach" on it. How KEEEEUTE! Well the beach is a bit of a distance away....but the farmhouse is real close!
I can't believe this rose is in my flower bed....the flower bed that mostly has one flower at a time bloom! I AM NOT COMPLAINING!
Thanks for coming by! I love our visits!

But look....we've had kittens....some are kitties....some are prim kittens...there seems to be an assortment of them....everywhere!
It must be that fall time of year, Halloween is 'round the corner!
Below is a fall quilt I'm not quite finished with yet and I decided to hang it up anyhow...it has several basting pins in it to hold the blocks in place till I can machine quilt it!
These kittens above were caught purring and snuggling together.
Below are some more of my favorite colored flowers. I believe my friend said these were orange Zinnias. They are so vibrant and look great in a black (spray painted!) planter.Hope your day is absolutely blessed and wonderful!

This project is ultra easy....messy ....but easy. I worked by my kitchen sink because it was easier.
a pumpkin from Michael's last year when they went on sale....
Matte Modge Podge
and various strips of Halloween and regular scrapbook paper in
I cut the scrap paper in strips of paper and then tore them into thirds. I tried the long strips of paper...but it was easier working with shorter strips.
I brushed on Modge Podge in long strips and applied the paper.
Yes it's messy....
For the most part I loved how it turned out....I might do things a little different next time....I'd like to try and do a patchwork pumpkin....with square designs...
I topped off the pumpkin with a sheer black wired ribbon

Today is a great day, it's Pink Saturday that Beverly has made famous. Be sure to check out her sweet bloghttp://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/my_weblog/ , she has a list of wonderful ladies joining in on the fun, and you are welcome to join in every Saturday if you would like, just let her know. She is the wonderful hostess of all this fun, she has put alot of work and organization into this and it has become very SUCCESSFUL! I wanted to repost this! I recovered manilla file folders with
scrapbook paper...using only a glue stick. I did this months ago and they are still holding up quite well. After I glued the paper on I trimmed the excess with scissors so it ended up having a clean edge. I have done summer colors, fall colors for fall recipes and ideas,
and then Christmas colors for memories, Christmas cards and crafts, etc. It was quick and fun and I love the end result!
I bet there are many people like me who do not enjoy using manilla folders but have to. I decided if I was going to file (which is my LEAST favorite job) I would at least make the files look pretty. It took an hour to do about 20 but the results are so worth it, I love it. When I file I look at them and think "wow I like that!"
It is always nice to be organized but I like it to at least look 'pretty' organized!

I got my crow....and my crow label I made on my computer...I have no special program/graphics on my computer just shapes and fonts. Then I brushed the label with coffee and cinnamon on the label.
Next I used modge podge to apply the label.
I shredded newspaper to glue on the lid for the nest.
Next I put together the shredded newspaper on the lid and then glued the bird on top of that. Put the finished lid on top of the jar and voila...a crow canister!
For the tray, I used spray paint and scrapbook paper. I love polka dots and try to keep it stocked in my supply room!
I only spray paint the edges, then apply modge podge, then smooth the paper on, working carefully to not tear the paper. I have found that the thicker scrapbook paper works beautifully, and never gives me any trouble!
I'm trying to make my room more inspiring to do the laundry...buwahahahaha (http://theinspiredroom.net/ )Be sure to check out Melissa's Life is Beautiful post on making your home more inspiring!
Have a blessed day!

My first DIY project for my table included my trusty assistants helping me spray paint some clearance pip berries that I got from Joann's. I get them all the time in weird colors and then spray paint them the color I want....
They didn't get completely covered but from a foot away no one notices any imperfections! I like it...at .89 cents!
Next DIY is a little muffin tin from a thrift store...spray painted...my favorite power tool is spray paint! I added fall berries with some little candles...I love it!
My dishes are from various places, but the large dinner plates were from Walmart a few seasons ago during fall. I bought several. The fabric napkins are from my favorite little consignment store.
I made the black toille table runner and put it on top of a pumpkin colored tablecloth.
I have way too many sugar bowls and creamers in every color...these have fall leaves and pumpkins topping them.
The tray in the center is another thrifty treasure...a wood tray...ugly as can be...spray painted black and all the fall goodies set inside.
Here it is without the tray and everything just gets lost I think!
Thank you for your visit!
