Fall Decor....is on my mind

It is in the hundreds here (106 yesterday)....and I'm longing for cooler weather. We have fires everywhere here in S. California....smoke fills our skies....so we are staying indoors for the most part. They are not so close that we will evacuate but we can see the fires where we are....
I've been at home thinking about fall. I love fall....love apple and pumpkin pies, hot apple cider, hay bales stacked on top of each other waiting to be fed to animals, cooler temperatures, football starting up again...yep I love football...

What are you thinking about today?
PS...daughter calls from college...she is already out of money! Said her books cost more than we anticipated and she needs to buy groceries...food! I said "babe when I was in college, the cafeteria (in other words the pre-paid plan) was good enough for your father and I...it's still good enough for you!" Big smile!

I love all your pretty fall things. Your love of this season is exactly like mine. Crisp cool days, raking leaves and drinking hot cider!

I am so sorry about the fires. I am always so worried at this time of year for those of you in California. I wouldn't sleep at night...

My youngest daughter left for college last Thursday (sniff, sniff). She has the food program and we put a $75.00 "cushion" in her account. 2 days later she called for more money!!! We are going to set up a weekly allowance.

Thanks for a great post and I will be praying for all of you.

It is always scary when I see that California is on fire! I hope they can get them all put out and the fires don't put you or your farm in any danger.

I LOVE your Fall pictures. We got a cooler spell here this past weekend and today. Our high the past couple of days has only been about 85 which is unheard of in August (even on the last day of Aug!!!)in Oklahoma. I am LOVING the temps. In the morning when I am out on my back patio swing reading and drinking my coffee I have had to put a lightweight blanket over my legs....YAY!!!

I am longing for fall here. The weather is up and down and I know if I put any fall decorations up it will be be back to summer weather until fall really begins! Plus I like to make myself wait until the day after my son's bday (he'll be nine on Sept 22) to start decorating. Fall officially begins then and he doesn't have to put up with birthday and fall decor on his special day. ;)

It was 108 here on Saturday! And the a/c was not working that great at the skilled nursing facility I work at. Then the car took forever to cool down with the a/c. I was still hot when I got home. Crashed on the recliner for awhile before heading out to celebrate my niece's 13th birthday. Today is so much better. Got up to the low 80's and now it is rapidly cooling off. Yay cooler weather. We are not seeing as many fires here in Northern California. I remember last year in June I think it was, the skies were so smoky you could not see the sun. We did not get that this year. I hope you are safe from the fires. My husband's brother and wife had to evacuate from the Sylmar fire last November. I also hope the weather cools off soon for you too. Hard to do crafts when it is so hot.

Have a good week!

Hi Debbie

I'm thinking about fall too! We have all the windows open and it's going down into the 50's tonight here in PA.

If you have the time, please stop by The Old Parsonage, I love company!

Hi, Debbie,
I am so eager for fall, too. It is my favorite season I think, although spring runs a close second. I love football and Halloween and everything associated with the season. Your autumn decorations are so cute. Good answer to your daughter in college. Hope your week is a happy one. Vicki

Here's what I'm thinking about today: sweet bloggers like you! I got my hand mixer in the mail and I love it. Thank you so much, Debbie. Your thoughtfulness meant a lot to me. :-)

P.S. I posted a picture of it here:

I love your fall decorations. I pulled out all of my totes and began a couple days ago to decorate. I LOVE this time of the year.
