Unfortunately, I have finished most of my patriotic cross stitching projects that have (I'm embarassed to confess!) been ongoing for some time(months, ok some for years)after July 4th. I was determined to finish them since they had been started...but I did dream of them being tossed about the house, in a cute manner of course BEFORE the big patriotic weekend. Alas....life gets in the way and I finished them AFTER the big event.

I took some prim star fabric and decoupaged it to the mat....framing the print. Nothing else seemed to fit!
I covered the mat with decoupage...stretched the fabric slightly over it, smoothed out any wrinkles and let it dry outside on the deck in the 104 degree temperature. I love how it turned out. It really was simple.

Blessings,
Debbie

What a sweet project, Debbie. Now you're all set for next July 4th ;) I sure know how that goes...
Which reminds me that I need to start on some FALL stitcheries and projects. Especially a couple of things that didn't quite make it last year...
Happy Weekend!
That looks so great! I started a latch hook rug for my nieces' bedroom when they were like 5 and 8. I still haven't finished it. The older one is in her 30s now. lol Feel better? :)
I love how it turned out!
Those are so pretty! Isn't it fun to put things around the house for special occasions?
I'm having my first giveaway on my blog, you can check it out here >>> http://camelliacottagediary.blogspot.com
