The Red, White, and Blue****

Hello everyone! Right now I'm hooked on porch decor, decorating outside and having lots of visitors over to visit, swim, barbecue and enjoy. Julia @http://hookedonhouses.net/ has started this party! Be sure to check out all the fun!
Don't you love red? Don't you love red, white and blue? I do! This is from the front porch of our farmhouse. We live on 3 acres in a very, very rural part of So. California. My hubby and I enjoy sitting on our front porch and looking out at our animals grazing...I of course bring my cross stitching with me because you can only watch animals graze for so long...with their heads down...chewing grass. Hubby loves it....I (yawn) would rather be doing something else!
This is an old chest of drawers from his grandfather. He was horrified when I spray painted it red! Mr. Farmer (hubby) informed me he didn't like red, I told him to think "Tomatoes"...then he kind of simmered down. I have to talk farm terms to him when it comes to decorating!

This old white strainer is from my side of the grandparents...

Love this quilt. We got it when we were first married, and we visited Lancaster, Pa. with my parents on a vacation. I wanted to swoon when I saw all the quilts at the Amish homes for sale. OK I still swoon when I see beautiful quilts. They get to me...so does Mr. Farmer hubby but that's another topic!

This pillow is from the 1960's, it is a little weathered but I love to bring it outside during the hotter months!
One of my favorites to read outside with a glass of ice tea.

It was 100 degrees here today and humid. Oh my!
So glad you came by for a visit!

I like your style of incorporating both of your family pieces! Your Hubby's Gramp's chest of drawers looks so cheery. I love how you've planted in your grandparent's strainer also. You have a great eye for making warm & inviting porch spaces! I need to take some hints & tips. Love the quilts :)

Oh I love your Red, white and blue photos. I was just thinking this morning “How am I going to decorate the mantel?” I’m sure I will think of something. Can not believe we are going to be in the month of June. Have a great rest of the week and hope it cools down for you.

I love the red, white and blue too. I especially like how the chest looks painted red. Everything just looks so cute on the front porch. I am a quilt person too. I have a very small quilted pot holder from the Amish. My friend visited in Ohio and PA and met an Amish family and had lunch with them. She brought me the pot holder.

I love it. I am so jealous. The only thing I don't like about my home is no covered porch! We have a beautiful deck in back and a huge porch/patio in front and neither is covered. I will just have to look at yours and dreamy.
Thanks for sharing!
Have a Blessed Memorial Day.

Oh, so many red, white and blue pretties! My husband is a retired Naval Officer, my son was a Marine and, thus, we are a very patriotic family!
Three cheers for your red, white and blue style, my friend!
