Power Embroidering!

Hello everyone! I don't know about you but I just started thinking about Mother's day....and thought I better make something extra sweet for my mama this year. I am working on a little embroidery that says 'mama' on it surrounded with little flowers. I am power (speed) embroidering! Have you heard about power lunches-where you eat fast, or power cleaning-where you speed clean your house? Yah right!

I do however clean as fast as I can because I want to get to the fun stuff! But I realized at my age (49 cough cough) I am unable to clean my entire house in 1 day. How long does it take you?

I have been on the couch with my candles lit, nice music on...ok hubby was watching documentaries...loves those animals tearing each other apart...trying to speed sew, so I can get Mother's day gifts finished. At least I had my candles lit!
Shockingly, my hubby helped me clean my house this weekend, we have company coming....I about fell over as he knocked me over...couldn't see me...he was carrying a 50 lb. load of laundry in his arms! Hahahha....I love a man who does laundry....vacuums....mops(he actually does this...loves to play in the water!) He has broken a few things with that mop handle swinging around as he launches into the dirty floor! He mops like he is weeding weeds in his garden, arms flying....need I say more?
Anyhoo! Hope your day is lovely!

I, too, am working on stitching up something for my Mom for Mother's Day. She said something about coming today or Wednesday...I sure hope she waits until Wednesday. I won't have it done by later today...well, maybe if I walked away from the computer, I could put a dent in it! LOL

Have a great day :)

Looks like a very pretty embroidery design. I hope you will show and tell when you’re finished. What a great gut you have there. Happy Monday to you.

You and I are very lucky indeed to have husbands that will chip in and help us out with the housework! Mine helps me, too, and it makes me feel great not only to have help but to realize he does it out of love for me!

Don't feel bad, it takes me more than one day to get the whole house clean, too! Sometimes even with hubby helping!

Your hubby is wonderful to help you get ready for your company. Mine does good with helping me too...we have some good men!!!

Ill be sending mom some Hawaiian flowers. She just loves them and waits for them on Moms day. But Ive been busy doing all kinds of needlework lately and trying to finish alot because Ill be moving soon.

How lucky he helped you. My bf often helps me do stuff which totally surprised me cuz my ex wouldnt unless forced. In fact now I dont even vacuum anymore. He says thats his job. Hey, who am I to argue with that?!! :)

This was a cute post~I had to laugh at the image of your husband with the mop! No wonder we usually say "Forget it. I'll do it!" ;-)

I'd love to see the finished piece you are doing for your mom. It looks so pretty. It looks like you are not using a pattern either. I'm sure Mom is going to love it!!

Have a great week, Debbie! :-D

No, I no longer clean in one evening! like I used to. I don't know, I had two kids, went to every activity, cleaned the house on Thursday night, and worked a full time job.
Now, I do little bits at a time, with a deep clean thrown in here and there. Although, I tell you, having no kids here makes a big difference. The house stays clean. Now don't tell them....they are sure it was NEVER their fault!

I'm sure your mom with love her gifts!

My husband doesn't help much with inside housework. He says that he is domestically challenged!!

Back when I worked full time, and we both traveled with work, sometimes, just around bedtime, I'd look around and say, "Arghhh - I cannot go to sleep with the house like this." My husband called it my White Tornado mode - I'd be wildly cleaning til after midnight, and he'd gamely vacuum along. OK, still happens, but, no, I cannot get the whole house clean in one fell swoop.
