Hello everyone, we had an amazing weekend this weekend with our family. It was graduation day for poopsie....our daughter! Family came from far and wide, bearing gifts, balloons, flowers....she is with my wonderful son and his wife! Someone said something about the empty nest syndrome (thanks Michele), someone else mentioned cutting the apron strings...(my pastor's wife) I can't possibly think about cutting anything...I can't find my scissors! Ok and I may have hidden all the aprons!
Outdoors on the deck I set the table....I had so much red white and blue stuff left and I kept using it!I'm heading to bed...for a long rest....pooped, and a little emotional that the childhood of my youngest seems to be drawing to a close. Boohooohoo...
Perhaps a little chocolate is in order!
Blessings,
Debbie

Congrats on your daughter's graduation! My oldest will be graduating next year, and I'm sooo not ready to be sending her into the world. (I think I will be hiding all of my aprons too) :0)

Thank you for stopping by at my porch party! I love your porch as well with all those reds and blues. Congrats on your daughters graduation! Also, I dont think we can ever let go of our children. Its impossible. I hover over my son now and I will continue to do so for the rest of his life. Yes, Im a hoveror! LOL. But it is always with the love that I have been blessed with as a mother:) Hide those aprons girl, there is nothing wrong with that!
Congratulations to you! I know what you are going through, my son graduated May 21st from high school. Although we have two more at home, not an empty nest. I invite you to read my post, A Letter to my Son (Bama Graduates)

You can't go wrong with red, white & blue for any occasion. Congratulations to your daughter, and hang in there, Mom - empty nests get easier as time goes on. Sally
Oh I loved the decorations. I am sure the party was a wonderful success. Oh I loved how you used the blue quilt too. Hang in there about letting them spread their wings. And take everyones words with a grain of salt.
I hope you have a Blessed week.
Many Blessings,
Sherry

Congrats to your daughter and all of you on her graduation! She is beautiful! You did a fabulous job on the table decorations.
Awww I know just how your feel. My youngest graduated from HS two years ago. It's a hard pill to swallow. But then, I remember how anxious I was to graduate and spread my wings. I'm SUPER lucky that my Sara has stayed here so far to attend our community college. Thanks for your sweet comments about my porch. Much appreciated. : )
Congrats to your daughter! Mine will be graduating in December! You did such a wonderful job on the decorations - it all looks so pretty!

AWWWWw congrats to your beautiful daughter. What a special time in her life. It is so exciting to see them grow into mature and capable young adults. And just because the nest gets empty, doesn't mean you have to cut any strings. Mine are never getting cut - that's why the planes can't fly low around here - they might get caught in them! So just make those strings stretch a little more. It really works well!
hugs, Linda
Debbie,
First of all congratulations to your daughter on her graduation! She is such a pretty girl! I think I would hide those scissors and aprons too! (I know I will be doing the same)!
I think I'm headed to California...your table always look so inviting! You definitely have the gift of hospitality and the decorating to go with it! :)
Have a great day!
