Welcome again to yet another....Tablescape Tuesday! I was meandering through our pantry and found these dishes my hubby got for me several years ago for my birthday! Mr. Chicken Ranch thought they were 'great' since they had chickens on them!

Notice the fresh eggs? These are direct from the chicken coop...they have been washed....fresh eggs are like little kids...they are always dirty!

These blue napkins and placemats are from a wonderful little hospital consignment/thrift shop. They always have dozens of fabric napkins which I am addicted to!

I love looking at all the other Tablescapes at Susan's http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ there are always wonderful ideas, beautiful tables, lovely dining rooms and Susan has the most beautiful blog! Join in on the fun!
Blessings,
Debbie

Is there a tissue in the house please?

Hello Everyone! I see an 18 year old at my house...but when I close my eyes this is the picture I keep seeing....

What a whirlwind week and weekend. Many of you know my daughter is getting ready to graduate in about 4 weeks from high school. I am so ready to be done with the drama of high school, but alas I am teary eyed at the last reminders that her childhood is drawing to a close and college life is just around the bend.

She brought home a lovely prom dress that was a little too big...needed some taking in here and there.....4 sizes too big! So I began cutting....trimming...shaking...the dress was a tad bit expensive and I was cutting into it...knowing it had to be done.
I use vintage needles from our grandmother who was quite a seamstress...wondering if she would shudder at watching what I was doing!!!!
The morning of the prom led to success as the dress was taken in...after breaking three needles on my machine I decided to HAND SEW all this blue goodness! Oh my...what stress.
She decided to get ready at her grandparents house so we could all enjoy the process of our little one getting dressed up. I always love to unite the young ones with their elderly relatives because I think they need to bond as often as possible and have fun and laugh while doing it....this time is precious with them because it won't last forever.

Here's me (the proud mama) with my (boohoo) adult, 18 year old daughter (boohooooo...)
the back of her dress...
We have been going to soccer banquets, awards assemblies, I am so proud of her. She won the Most Valuable Player on her high school soccer team (don't let the fake eyelashes and tons of makeup fool you-she is a bulldozer when playing soccer). She told me that the other team never thinks someone with all that makeup could be a jock or play that well...it throws them off! Hahahha....well anyhoo...this was my post to brag...please put up with me ok?
Thank you!
Blessings,
Debbie
PS You may have to pick me up off the floor on graduation day...I may be a blubbering idiot by then....no one said cutting apron strings would hurt so much!

Pink Saturday!

Hello everyone! What a week, and now it is Saturday again. Be sure to check out all the Pink Posts over at Beverly's at How Sweet the Sound
We are just starting to do some planting...we have to wait till after mother's day because of the snowy area we live in. But I have been looking through my hubby's seed stash and found all kind of seed packets and some poor lonely bulbs that should have been planted already!

Thank you so much for your visit!

Blessings,

Debbie

Kitchen Tweaking!

Just a little tweaking in my kitchen. I found some adorable little plates awhile ago....and have been trying to figure where to use them. Each small plate has a small kitchen ornament stamped into it. Some of the images...a rolling pin, measuring cup, hand mixer, a whisk...

So I hung them above one of my many shelves I have found at thrift stores....

I also found another pitcher with 1 litre printed on it.
Now I only hope my hubby does not walk passed it and accidentally knock it off the wall! I have come home many a time to find that Mr. Broad shoulders has knocked off something..onto the floor....breaking it into tiny pieces! I love him... but sometimes he has to be sent outside!
Blessings,
Debbie

Yipppeeee

Hello again! We took some time off and visited a magical kingdom in a far, far away place. Mr. Farmer asked his little princess who just turned 18 what she wanted for her birthday now that she was an adult. She said "daddy I want to go to Disneyland!" So you become an adult so you can....play, ride some fast rides, and visit a castle!

We saw our Disney friends, ate wonderful food, and about 8:30 hubby and I made our way back to my parents RV to take a much needed "NAP" while the kids stayed till 12:00! I turn into a pumpkin at 12:00 and didn't want anyone to see the transformation, so we left early!

Here he is pondering...."do I go on the Matterhorn or Space Mountain?" Hmmmm....
We ended up riding the slower choo choo train around the park!
I am glad to be home in my own little magical kingdom with my own farmer prince!
Blessings,
Debbie

My Uncle Bob

My uncle Bob (on left) just passed recently and we are headed to his memorial. Our family is precious and I look forward to seeing many loved ones. His daughter, my cousin and dear precious friend, has remained close to me over the years. We laugh and giggle all the time, we talk about God, our famlies, crafts, decorating...and have the best time when we are together.
My uncle Bob had a rich and beautiful voice. I believe Heaven's choir (which I want to be in one day!) will be singing a little more beautifully with him in the choir!

Uncle Bob and my aunt Toni (she's the feisty and beautiful one next to him) were married over 50 years....wow! That says a great deal about two people that are married that long!

What a precious man of God, he had memorized many 'chapters' of the Bible. Great to be around. He was a great father and husband.
We will miss you dearly!

Blessings,

Debbie

I don't know where this scripture is but it says "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of one of His saints."

Pink Saturday/Easter decor/Birthday Boohoo

Hey Everyone! Happy Easter first of all! This is a glorious weekend to celebrate and have fun. Real quick a little shout out to my sweet daughter whom I love to pieces...she turns 18 (Boohooing softly) this weekend. I am happy, and a little tearful over the big birthday!

I am so blessed by my baby girl....she is everything a mom could ask for in a daughter. Thank you God for her!
I bought these little rabbit ears for my teddy bear out of the $1.00 bin at Target...I think they are actually for dogs or cats. And they have little pink fuzzy fur inside...I adore! These little guys are having their own Easter celebration in my living room!

Is that candy they snuck from the kitchen? I wondered where it all went...they have been munching after I have gone to bed!

Yep, this one below has been caught red (pinkhanded) handed! Again in my kitchen there has been a lot of baking and cooking getting ready for the big celebration...we are cooking several breakfast casseroles (Paula Deen's french toast casserole) for our Church's Easter breakfast, and then we are cooking for our big family gathering on Sunday! Yippeee I love all of this!

Someone stole my pink candy eggs and replaced them with blue! Shame shame!

I love this cookbook from Target on making cookies and decorating them for the different holidays.

So of course I made some sugar cookie dough, got out the cookie cutters and started baking away!
Then I made several cakes....

Decided on this as my cake plate...

Woohoo! I had fun...my hubby raised his eyebrows like "What in the world do you call it?" I said it is my Easter extravaganza cake! Hahaha big smile!

Topped with edible Easter grass (Walmart) and loads of malted ball Easter eggs, surrounded with yummy cookies...oh my! Where is the coffee and creamer and a piece of cake?

Here is my other spring project I was working on...a little spring decoupaging!

This has been so fun....I love spring...I love Easter....I love going to church and hearing the glorious Easter music, seeing little girls in their Easter outfits....watching kids run circles around the Sunday School teachers because they have had too much Easter candy! Big smile. It is a fun day. Hope you have a Blessed Celebration.
