What a whirlwind week and weekend. Many of you know my daughter is getting ready to graduate in about 4 weeks from high school. I am so ready to be done with the drama of high school, but alas I am teary eyed at the last reminders that her childhood is drawing to a close and college life is just around the bend.
She brought home a lovely prom dress that was a little too big...needed some taking in here and there.....4 sizes too big! So I began cutting....trimming...shaking...the dress was a tad bit expensive and I was cutting into it...knowing it had to be done.
I use vintage needles from our grandmother who was quite a seamstress...wondering if she would shudder at watching what I was doing!!!!
The morning of the prom led to success as the dress was taken in...after breaking three needles on my machine I decided to HAND SEW all this blue goodness! Oh my...what stress.
She decided to get ready at her grandparents house so we could all enjoy the process of our little one getting dressed up. I always love to unite the young ones with their elderly relatives because I think they need to bond as often as possible and have fun and laugh while doing it....this time is precious with them because it won't last forever.
Here's me (the proud mama) with my (boohoo) adult, 18 year old daughter (boohooooo...)
the back of her dress...
We have been going to soccer banquets, awards assemblies, I am so proud of her. She won the Most Valuable Player on her high school soccer team (don't let the fake eyelashes and tons of makeup fool you-she is a bulldozer when playing soccer). She told me that the other team never thinks someone with all that makeup could be a jock or play that well...it throws them off! Hahahha....well anyhoo...this was my post to brag...please put up with me ok?
PS You may have to pick me up off the floor on graduation day...I may be a blubbering idiot by then....no one said cutting apron strings would hurt so much!

Thank you so much for your visit!

So I hung them above one of my many shelves I have found at thrift stores....
I also found another pitcher with 1 litre printed on it.
Now I only hope my hubby does not walk passed it and accidentally knock it off the wall! I have come home many a time to find that Mr. Broad shoulders has knocked off something..onto the floor....breaking it into tiny pieces! I love him... but sometimes he has to be sent outside!

We saw our Disney friends, ate wonderful food, and about 8:30 hubby and I made our way back to my parents RV to take a much needed "NAP" while the kids stayed till 12:00! I turn into a pumpkin at 12:00 and didn't want anyone to see the transformation, so we left early!

My uncle Bob had a rich and beautiful voice. I believe Heaven's choir (which I want to be in one day!) will be singing a little more beautifully with him in the choir!
What a precious man of God, he had memorized many 'chapters' of the Bible. Great to be around. He was a great father and husband.
We will miss you dearly!
I don't know where this scripture is but it says "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of one of His saints."
