Welcome to another Fantastic Pink Saturday! Where ideas abound, Pink devotees lurk, and creation is everywhere.
Recently while looking at http://marleyandlockyer.blogspot.com/
I noticed they had pillows or table runners that looked like they were made from feed sacks, grain bags, seed bags etc.
Hey I live on a chicken ranch/farm and thought "I know I have something like that out in the BARN!" So I trotted myself out to the barn and sure enough, here was a Burpee seed bag ready to be made into something! Farm chic! My hubby would bend over guffawing~laughing hysterically that anyone would ever think to make a pillow out of a grain bag or feed bag!

I tried to add a little spring in my living room with a pink rose vintage tablecloth over a round table....

Thank you for visiting...I'm off to the barn to see if there are more grain bags around!

Tablescape Thursday

Welcome to Tablescape Thursday. See Susan's blog for more wonderful inspiration @http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ ....I was reading about French country decor for the dining room....and they said roosters are at the top of the list, a little rod iron...deep reds and golds....

So I pulled out the rooster, the eggs (where's the hen? she did all the work) a couple of rod iron candlesticks....and this wonderful material with roosters on it...it came from Joann's fabrics here in Calif.
We actually live on a small egg ranch with real chickens out in the barn...they love to run around and peck each other! Pecking order? The chickens started all that drama...there is definitely a pecking order with chickens and most animals.
My husband actually enjoys collecting chickens for me....the real kind! We order 100 baby chicks at a time and they are mailed in a box to the post office where we go and pick them up. The baby chicks are ok in the box for about 24 hours...the box has holes in it and a little straw material for them to scratch around. They received nutrients from the egg shell that makes them survive for this period of time until they eat. There is not much height in the box so they can't move around too much which keeps them safe. When they arrive we put them in a little fenced in area inside our little chick barn with a brooder. The brooder keeps them warm, and they start pecking immediately. We set out the cutest little bird feeders and waterers...they peck at the water! They are cute and then immediately start growing into large hens...most of them. There are always a few rooster in the bunch...and boy do they make a lot of noise. Within 4 months they start laying eggs.

I found the tea/coffee set at a thrift store...I love these colors.

Chicken trivia: hens lay an egg a day and do not need a rooster to lay the egg....they need the rooster to lay a "FERTILIZED EGG"....chickens can lay eggs for years but usually a hen only lays eggs 3-4 years-which is called their productive cycle.
One last thing...white eggs and brown eggs are the same...except brown eggs usually have a thicker shell, sometimes a darker yolk...and my mama swears brown are better!
Thanks so much for coming by!

Metamorphosis Monday

Welcome everyone to Metamorphosis Monday Put on by the lovely Susan
...check out the other posts.
I wanted to share (some of you have seen this!) a wooden piece that someone put on the side of the road...and my hubby...bless his heart....slammed on the brakes and said "hop out and get it...I know you want it....you're going to paint it white...right? Oh yes I jumped out and oh yes I painted it that very day!

It had a great old mirror on the back that I accidentally broke first thing...so I put scrapbook paper back there behind the opening. I added more paper between the shelves....and voila!
I just love it....I keep a lot of my scrapbook materials in this hutch, it just fit perfectly over the white cabinet I had!
Now if I could just 'metamorphosis' my waistline!
"Though your beginning was small (is God talking about my waistline here?) your latter end will greatly (hmmm?) increase!
Big smile!

It's Pink Saturday, Yippeee! I love these days!
First of all this little bunny planter was the uuuuuugggggliest thing from the thrift store in 70's colors...mustard, bright green and orange! Ugly no more with spray paint~white! Then bunnys need nourishment from the garden right? So I gave the bunny some pink lettuce!

This picture looks like our garden this year~full of critters!
Next I spray painted a silver plated tray and a pitcher. Love it...love to spray paint, don't you?
Thanks for dropping by!

You're still not finished yet with those crafts?

I am soooo very embarassed to even post these pictures. But I have a plan in mind. Perhaps if I show these pictures to you...I will make the incentive to finish ALL these unfinished projects. Perhaps some of you have some too. I HAVE been the queen of unfinished projects, quilts, cross stitcheries....anyone still have a project from when your kids were small...and now they are in College? Married? How embarassing right?
I was cleaning and organizing and came across WAY TOO MANY unfinished projects. You know Leslie always has a Wednesday post for 'What you are working on" and I thought how awful it would be if WE ALL would come clean about unfinished projects and what we SHOULD BE WORKING ON!
Anyone out there know what I mean?

I have nearly finished cross stitch projects that WOULD HAVE made lovely decorations, or ornaments to hang.
This one I love, I even made the pattern (no idea where it is, because it was sosooooo long ago. Boohoo, quiet pitiful weeping in the background.
So ladies, I have resolved! To make up my mind! Before I start another (fun and exciting) project!!! I must! Yes I must complete (at least some of these) projects! Does anyone want to jump on this ship? The one that is headed for somewhere....a destination that involves completing the course?
This is sooo cute I can't stand that I haven't finished it! I realize much in my little craft area is undone, works in progress (from the early 90's? the 80's).....shhhh don't tell my hubby he still thinKs I need to go to Joann's or Michaels for inspiration! But I need completion!

Poor wiseman can't see where he is headed!
Who knows where the pattern is to this one!
These are just the stitcheries not finished...there are clothes that have been cut out of fabric for weddings (that happened years ago), unfinished quilts, scrapbook albums (of babies who are now in their 20's!) Oh my!
Anyone else want to share their unfinished works, their beautiful creations-almost done?

PINK SATURDAY! Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! What a perfect day for a Pink Saturday! Here is a little Valentine Rose vintage card I decoupaged to a wooden board. I love how this turned out.

Next I worked on just a decoration using pink ric rac. I love ric rac.
I love buttons and bows, chipboard, it is just too fun!

But the sweetest thing ever ....is this little book my daughter made for me with pictures of us in it and then the sweetest little letter. It broke me up. I am so grateful she loves me like she does. I am missing her already...she is college bound in a few months. I want to make this Valentines day special for her....and my hubby too.

I hope you have a lovely day! Put your favorite music on, light your favorite candle, do your favorite things, See your favorite people or call them....maybe a little chocolate is in order! (big smile)

Houseful of Fun Craft

Welcome everyone! I want to 'Show and Tell' what I am Hooked on (houses anyone?)...and I want to show you the sweetest little house! There are so many wonderful blog parties today so click on the links to check them out!

Show and Tell at Kelli's House. I have been working on some tiny little books, scrapbooks, recipe books-as gifts. This is one!
This is a fun little craft. I went to the Stampington site below and they offer free templates. I downloaded this house template and then just cut with scissors the design on scrapbook paper I picked out.

I ended up cutting it a little differently because I wanted it longer....

Then I used my new Martha Stewart paper cutter to make some grass for the front of the house. I love how this turned out!
Then I added a door to the front of the house, little flowers, ric rac (one of my favorite embellishments!) and a little stitching by pen to the edge of the house.

I used a hole punch on the roof and then tied a ribbon through it connecting the pages.

On the back I spelled LOVE with stickers. I think I am going to have to make another one in other colors. Have fun with it if you make one. There are other wonderful templates on the Stampington site! WooHoo!
