Today is another Pink Saturday put on by Beverly @ http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com/.
I wanted to share with you some more gingerbread items-with a cute pink twist. All week I have shared my kitchen and gingerbread theme tree, kitchen hoosier decorated with gingerbread items and my gingerbread collection. So today I wanted to share a quick idea for decorating a gift card, (with a whimsical gingerbread twist) perhaps with items you already have in your kitchen.
I took a wide mouth canning jar, fake snow (could use a little rock salt to look like snow), felt to make a cone (Santa hat)a little fur or batting and your gift tag and gift card.

Used a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and made pink snowflakes to add to the snow.

I put some fake snow in the glass jar....
Put the gift card inside the jar on top of the snow...along with a few pink snowflakes...

Add a cute tag preferably pink, I have some free gingerbread tags below for you that I found... and voila....you have a cute and inexpensive gift card holder....that looks wonderful!

Screw on the lid, and place the Santa hat over the lid. I added fur to the little hat, but you could use batting as well. Tack down the point of the hat so it doesn't point straight up....

Also for a cute beach version you should go visit M @ http://talesfromanoccottage.blogspot.com/2008/12/christmas-creations.html her little jar version is beyond adorable! I went crazy when I saw it....so cute!
I also wanted to share a free cross stitch pattern I found with gingerbread men on it as well as gingerbread boy and girl gift tags that are free to print out. I printed mine out on card stock. They are really cute!

That's a really clever idea, and you make it look so easy to do!
Happy Pink Saturday.
I love all your gingerbread items; thanks for sharing. That is a great idea for giving a gift card. Instead of snow you could put in some candy and hide the card in the middle of it all.
