2 1/2 Cups all purpose flour
2 TBSP sugar
1 TBSP baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 Cup Butter
2 eggs beaten
3/4 Cup whipping cream (or buttermilk, or milk)
(Sometimes during the fall I will add just a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg to this mixture!)400* oven
In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients. Using a pastry blender or a fork, (the only power tools needed.) blend butter into mixture till it looks like dry crumbs. Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and add beaten egg and milk. Stir just until moistened.

If you mix scones or biscuits too much they become tough!
Now you can pat them out like biscuites and use a biscuit cutter, or if you are stretched for time you can take a large spoonful and drop them on a cookie sheet. About 12 on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 12-14 minutes till lightly brown on top. Serve warm
with honey, jam or apple butter. Yum!
This and a cup of coffee and I am a happy woman!
Blessings,
Debbie

Yumm-O! I love scones! I wonder if you could add something to these like blueberries or chocolate chips? hmmm. I also love that cookbook you have on your counter...the Gooseberry one...love those!
I have never tried making scones but those sound easy and WONDERFUL!
Oh can you toss one my way please? It is chilly here (not complainin - just sayin) and I was about to make a cup of my spiced chai tea so one of those would go might good with it. Thanks so much Debbie! :-)
I love scones too! Nothing better!
Thanks for the recipe. I have one that I add things to all the time. It is similar to your's.
Have a great week!
I've never had one yet in my life! These look good and I'm always looking for good easy things to whip up for guests or on Saturdays.
Oh I love scones, I just did a post about that the other day, a scone and a cup of coffee...me a happy girl too!!
Hugs,
LeAnn:)

Debbie, those sound so good! I also have that Gooseberry Patch cookbook-there's some good stuff in there!
Hi Debbie:
I've never had a scone..are they like a bisquit? (that doesn't look like I spelled it right, sorry).
It sounds like you are not only a good cook, but a great baker too.

Sounds so good right now. That looks like a recipe that I can handle. :)
Yummers, yummers, yummers! I will have to make these for my family!
Thanks for the recipe!
I've never tried anything like this...but it sounds like maybe I could pull it off! Thanks for sharing the recipe, Debbie!
Have a great evening!

Debbie, thanks for stopping by my lil' ol' blog! Can I tell you that those "fake" cinna-minis totally had me cracking up? They turned out so cute, and looked very real. But....here in lies my problem. My hubby and 4 kids wouldn't bat an eye before trying to eat those. I guess that's why you had me laughing...funny mental picture!
Thanks ~ Amanda

Hugs, Pat
