Yippeee A winner, a winner!

Today is the day to announce the winner of the Blessing Book and tassel! So without further adooooo...
the winner is Pam @ http://basketsnprims.blogspot.com/ ! Congratulations Pam! Happy Dance!!! Pam has adorable prim things on her blog and I love those Santa hats with GLITTER on them!!! How cute is that, I have been working on some myself and they aren't nearly as cute as hers! Pam I will contact you for your address!

Next I want to share with you one of the most amazing recipes that we have tried over and over again, mostly for company!
It is by Paula Deen!

PRALINE FRENCH TOAST
8 EGGS
1 1/2 CUPS HALF AND HALF
1/3 CUP MAPLE SYRUP
1/3 CUP BROWN SUGAR
10-12 SLICES SOFT BREAD (WHITE OR WHEAT)
Hubby added a couple sprinkles of cinnamon to this.
TOPPING
1/2 CUP BUTTER (1 STICK)
1/2 CUP BROWN SUGAR
1/4 TSP CINNAMON(hubby added)
2/3 CUP MAPLE SYRUP
2 CUPS CHOPPED PECANS
BUTTER A 13 X 9 PAN.

(did I mention my husband cooks this!)
MIX EGGS, HALF AND HALF, SYRUP AND SUGAR IN A LARGE BOWL. PLACE THE BREAD SLICES IN THE DISH AND COVER WITH EGG MISTURE. COVER WITH PLASTIC WRAP AND LET SOAK OVERNIGHT OR FOR 8 HOURS IN THE REFRIGERATOR.

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350* AND REMOVE CASSEROLE FROM REFRIGERATOR.

MAKE THE TOPPING: MELT THE BUTTER IN A SAUCEPAN. ADD THE SUGAR AND MAPLE SYRUP AND COOK FOR 1 TO 2 MINUTES. STIR IN THE PECANS. POUR THE MIXTURE OVER THE BREAD AND BAKE FOR 45-55 MINUTES. ALLOW TO SIT FOR 10 MINUTES BEFORE SERVING.(we sprinkled a little powdered sugar over this)

I cannot emphasize how delicious this is! It is amazing, this and a cup of coffee...yummy in my tummy!

Thanks so much for your visit!

Blessings,

Debbie

PS I didn't post pictures of my hubby with his big farm hand picking the winner...I thought that was a little (yawn) boring...so I posted the french toast instead!

Congrats to Pam!! You are one lucky gal having a hubby who cooks like that. And we are lucky too - that frees you up a little to make those gorgeous paper and fabric creations and the fantastic tablescapes we love to come here to see.

Happy November!

I'm coming to your house for coffee! You have the best recipes. I'll have to try the pie crust one. They frighten me.

This looks delish! My hubby's fav is *PAIN DORE'* This is a much simpler way to prepare it. Especially for a house full of hungry guests during the holidays.

Pam, I don't even kow you but congratulations on winning.

Deb, I think you NEEDED a pic of Himself and his big ol' farm hand choosing the winner. Honestly!

But I must admit that the recipe sounds like a winner, and I'm all over that!

Saturday night, I was Princess Alice Cooper Grad Student at the party (translation: I wore my academic gown and hood; my tacky little tiara, and lots of black eye-liner for "interest." Oh, and black nail polish. Note to self: next year, actually plan a costume--don't just throw together whatever you have (which in this case was not much.

Love you Deb! Great breakfast recipe, great giveaway, and great blog as always!
