Joy to the World Christmas planner-5

Before we begin, I had a small and quick giveaway yesterday for the Christmas planner I showed....and the winner is...

Cottage Rose! I will contact you for your address and send this little puppy out right away to you!

Melissa at http://theinspiredroom.net/ is asking everyone to share Christmas traditions and ideas every Friday...
So welcome again...I have a tradition that I make a Christmas planner every year....hopefully you have seen the posts all week with organizing ideas and free printables (from many sites) that will help you have a smooth and peaceable Christmas. The more organized we are from start to finish, the more we will be able to enjoy that Christmas musical and not stress over what we could have forgotten. I REALLY make a point of putting the focus on CHRIST at CHRISTmas and how wonderful His gift to us is....what many people don't see, is me organizing myself so that this can be done.

...I just finished this planner and have added to it, notes from previous years, recipes, free printables found on the internet. Most of the lists and forms in this planner are from http://organizedchristmas.com/
Cynthia has an amazing site that if you so desire can organize every room in your house, every bathroom, pantry, closet, garage...the list goes on and on. If you like to make lists to keep things running smoothly, she has a list for just about everything and suggests that you use them to make a planner for all year round. http://organizedhome.com/ is her other site to be looked at for yearly organization. She has some great ideas, even if you don't like lists. It is amazing to read.
One other important thing I purchased was page protectors. I save special Christmas recipes out of magazines I like, craft projects, free stitchery and quilt patterns.
I printed out two calendars for December, one is just for our church schedule, music practices, special dinners, etc. The other calendar is for soccer, school events, college men(our 2 sons and one sweet daughter in love) coming home! Yippeeee! When relatives arrive...you get the picture.

There is also a very SPECIAL page set apart for what I should get my hubby, ok well it's a couple of lines, next to the rest of the page...what he should think of getting me(big smile)!

This sweet little postcard is again from http://vintageholidaycrafts.com/vintage-children-christmas-cards//

You can get cardstock that already has 3 holes punched in the sides at an office supply...these are great for printing something off of the computer and then putting directly into the notebook.
SECTIONS-DIVIDERS
Calendar
Menu plan-shopping lists
Gift list
Budget
Addresses (I add to this when I get cards with changed addresses, or new friends)
Card list
General shopping list-I usually take this with me or make a new one for the notebook
Christmas Recipes I want to try
I have an entire section on pictures I have printed or saved from magazines that are decorating related, rooms, houses, yards that 'wowed' me,
Blogger address-for sending those sweet friends something for Christmas, a card or a gift.

Some pages never get filled out! You can only do so much!

GIFT TIPS: A gift I have given many times and people LOVE it...A beautiful bag filled with pancake mix, syrup, small jar of jam, small package of coffee and/or teabags. If you really want to be frugal you can make your own pancake mix.... http://www.preparedpantry.com/how-to-make-your-own-pancake-mix.aspx and your own coffee creamer http://http//busycooks.about.com/library/features/blmyombeverages.htm?pid=2757&cob=home. I write a small tag that this is for breakfast after Christmas so they can relax and enjoy their morning.

Other Gift Ideas:
GIFTS IN A JAR: Soups, Cookies, Cakes, etc. http://http//www.allfreecrafts.com/giftinajar/index.shtml
These look great and you can decorate the jar with ribbons and small ornaments, gift card....

I really need to make some kind of planner to keep up with every thing. It would help to simplify things. Yours have ALL been so pretty!

I am so impressed by how pretty your planner is! I do all of mine on the computer, but it's not pretty--just practical.

Thanks for the GREAT gift ideas. I'm always looking for creative new ideas like these.

Hi Deb:
I'm going to check out Cynthia's web site and see what great ideas she has, thanks.
It sounds like your house is the place to be at Christmas...with all the kids home, how fun that will be. I noticed you slipped in "daughter in love"...thats the first time you mentioned that. Come on, give us a scoop....lol.

Oh, love the Christmas Planner idea. I'm a little late, but may try that this year. Next year I'll work on a cute outside.
