YIPPPEEEEE...Good news and Bad news...

Ok! I walk in my kitchen only to meet farmer hubby with this in my kitchen...he's in a panic...we had a freeze last night (the bad news), in So. California...oh my...everything has to be picked immediately! So we pick, we lost alot, all my white and regular pumpkins...boo hoo. But the green beans were saved. He flash boils them (under 2 minutes) takes them out of the pan and drains them, then we put them in freezer bags. 60 quart bags full.
The wheelbarrow is now outside, and the great white hunter has accomplished his great work for the week! (His chest is puffed out in pride as I type).
The good news! My table is set and ready for the 8 college boys, really young men coming for fall break. They are ready for lots of homecooked food.

I wonder if they like green beans??? Time to put hubby to work, while I ponder...

Should I leave the little pumpkins or add candles to the candlesticks...

Last but not least, my hubby and I took a bit of a drive, saw dear friends...also my blogging friend from http://bendingthebow.blogspot.com. She is the one who we prayed for, her little boy had Malaria while they were doing missions in Africa. He is doing much better and thank you. Yes people do go to Africa! Oh my! I gave her the 'Thankful' plaque I made a few posts ago...and she gave me some adorable hand carved wood eggs. I will show those later, they go with my bird collection.

We giggled, drank coffee (yay Pumpkin lattes!) and talked endlessly about fun things! Thank you Mary Beth!
Well I must go and work on cooking ...

This is the sweetest little tea pot I got with two cups at a thrift store. I love it, it has brown toile, which I love for the fall season...
And then a brown sugar/creamer set. The brown napkins are from the same store. Everytime I go in there they are selling fabric napkins in sets. I love it. I'm going to have to figure out a way to organize them, since I'm starting to have so many colors.

I'm off to make fettucine, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, salads galore, cookies, ok and a few vegetables, pumpkin pie, apple cobbler...yum...fire up the coffee maker, I'm a cookin'!
