Squirrels and crows in my house...

I have to say...fall is one of my favorite times of year!
Cooler weather...
football games, soccer tournaments...
Pumpkin Spice Lattes...
Hot apple crisp...
Falling leaves....

Soft fuzzy sweaters, snuggling with my honey...
Jeans and boots...
Snuggly quilts, quilted jackets, quilted wall hangings...
I love quilted items, I mostly machine quilt now because I enjoy the finished product. So with that in mind I wanted to make a small quilted wall hanging with a crow on it!

I traced around a small stuffed crow I had already, cut it out and sewed it to white and rust fabric.
Next I attached it to black and white checked fabric, added a little ric rac...
A little more checked fabric and voila!
I wanted the little quilt/hanging to fit under my black shelf. This is my seasonal shelf that I change out the decorations on.

This black frame I painted and then spelled fall using scrapbook stamps by Making Memories I think. The stitchery I did several years ago. I try to do a stitchery every year...I probably have 29! Since that's how old I am...OK well I've celebrated 29 a few times. Actually I was born on leap year(Feb. 29, 1960) so I am really only 12.

I do however on the other years celebrate on the 28th, usually tell my hubby what I want (gift card to Joann's or Michael's) hug him and say oh you should'nt(SHOULD) have....but I'm so glad you did (didn't forget!)
Blessings,
Debbie

Love it! I'm a fall girl too, for all the reasons you've listed, but especially for the Pumpkin spice latte!! I love that stuff, and this is from a strictly straight Folger's girl the rest of the year!!

What a fantastic idea! I love the seasonal shelf and the thought you put into it (now I really want to see the other seasons' time on the shelf.)

I should give that a try with the space above our giant living-room bookcase. Actually, that's a *really* good idea! I'm definitely going to do that :-D

BTW, I have to mention that my mom claimed to be 27 for at least three years. Apparently, I was too young to notice.. but eventually I started thinking "Now wait a minute, didn't Mom turn 28 LAST year?" haha. I'm 25 now so I'm not quite to the point where I want to pretend my birthday isn't until next year.. or the year after. Too bad having a birthday every four years doesn't mean it takes you four years to be a year older, right? ;)

Love the stitchery some bloggers have. Is there somewhere to get patterns for me to do stitchery? I love these and they look so simple to make.
