Meet Miss Punkin' Poo

Welcome and come on in! Melissa over at http://theinspiredroom.net/ is hosting a wonderful party filled with fall delights, decorating ideas, and amazing wonders. How fun to visit several wonderful neighbors for a little apple cider, pumpkin pie, and a tour through their newly decorated for fall, homes! It's like looking at an amazing magazine of fall homes with more pictures than you can imagine! Thank you Melissa! Outside(here in S. Calif) it is a wee bit hot (103!). So we bring the cool fall look inside (via the air conditioner). Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To every thing there is a season..." Well this season is VERY HOT! Below I have a buffet that I change out the table covering on or use a table runner according to the season. I use the same candle holders, just change the color of candles. Throw a few (fake oh no!) leaves around.
Add a few pumpkins, pip berries, and we are all set. I also LOVE to spray with harvest spray, or something fall related. If I don't have any seasonal room spray, I boil cinnamon and nutmet on low. Smells wonderful!
What I would give for a fabulous view of New England, red leaves on trees, etc.
Miss Punkin' Poo is the fall princess in our living area. She welcomes everyone with open arms. She is made out of wool, stuffed with polyester, but filled with love.

She about scared me to pieces the other night when I saw her looking at me late at night (Went to check the already locked front door)I had heard noises (hubby snoring) went to check again, and there was her reflection in the window-no one heard me scream over the already loud (motor boat sounding snoring) noise coming from my room!
I like the matting even more than the fall stitchery. I took a plain mat and stamped it with fall stamps and then colored them in with colored pencils.
Oh if you could only read the titles on the bookshelf "Chicken husbandry", "How to raise pigeons in 10 easy steps", "Make your own compost pile". Now there are some exciting books!

Thanks so much for coming by...

Blessings, Debbie

I wish the leaves were really changing here too but it's way too early for that yet (except those few renegade treees I saw last week!) And the days still can get pretty warm here thorugh the month so I often need the a/c too! But it will come eventually! In the meantime, we can pretend - right? Love the idea of stamping the mat!!

I love fall and am ready for it's eventual arrival. The decorations are just so pretty. Inspires me to pull mine out and get busy.

Well the leaves have not begun here in the deep south of Georgia yet but I am waiting. The early mornings are getting a little more cooler which is so nice. I love all your decor especially Miss Poo. Also need to make me a couple of fall pictures for my living room. How cute! Love the idea of stamping. I have lots of stamps!

Have a wonderful day!

I love fall, too. We went to New England one year in October and it was so gorgeous, I've been dying to go back ever since.

I love your quilts and how you put them on the bookshelves. I wouldn't have thought to do that, but they look great there. -Julia

That needlepoint frame is da bomb!
I am a Harvest/Thanksgiving nut & totally dig that needlepoint!!!

Plus I spied a large pumpkin with the top that can be removed.
Is it a soup turrine? Is that even spelled right? LOl

Oooo I am ready for cooler weather here too...but today it was only in the 70's with a strong north wind...it was actually a little chilly if you were outside for very long....it is just a tease. I'm sure it will be back to the 90's by the weekend.

Your decorations are so, so, so CUTE!! I love all of your Fall decor. I also LOVE your quilts on the shelves. I bet Miss Punkin' Poo did about scare the wits out of you...lol I too love to spray seasonal sprays with my favorite being Bath & Body works Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin...it is sprayed constantly now through Thanksgiving.

Maybe on my l00th post (a ways away) I'll have to make a ragamuffin (Christmas) garland to give away...how does that sound?

Came on over from The Inspired Room. Love your crossstich piece. I have one that was given to my from my grandmother. Her mother made it and I cherish it dearly.

Your home looks so beautiful all decked out in fall decorations. I'm forcing myself to get mine out before Friday. Luckily, this week our weather has cooled down to the 80's so it feels like fall is on it's way.

I am waiting patiently for fall here too. Our weather decided to change to summer as soon as September rolled around! But I must say it makes for perfect weekends at the beach. It's 20-40 degrees cooler at the beach here in Washington.
I'm really trying to bring fall into my home but it's hard when everything outside is screaming-SUMMER SUMMER SUMMER!
Sorry it's been so long since I visited you, I'm just starting to get things slowed down now that Mom and I opened our Etsy store...Then her computer broke down...I'm hoping she gets it fixed tomorrow!
God Bless You Debbie!
