Farmhouse-White, Creams and Brown

Uh oh....what do you think these little ones are up to?  And why are they out of their pen?  Good question!  After the photo shoot in they went back into their pen...where they were supposed to be.
****************
Every farm animal thinks the grass is greener on the other side....they always plan to get out...
especially when you are in your heels
on your way to church...
their favorite time for planning their get away.

Fresh eggs gathered every day...usually a couple of baskets full.  Chores never take a day off.

The sheep recently got a hair cut...they all look the same but the little ones know exactly who their mommy is.

Love birds...

If you ever want to come over for  a visit...we could do chores together! big smile.

Sweet thoughts and little aprons

Thank you for your sweet comments on my last post.  My father in law did pass away last night.
We as a family prayed together, sang some wonderful hymns and made it a memorable home going. We held his hand and loved him and then he held God's hand...
very precious.

One thing that is good for my soul and it quietly helps me focus...
is hand stitching...
for me it is soothing to work on something
while I'm thinking...
I can take it with me...while with a group of people...

I can work on something I enjoy.  In this case it is little aprons.

I'm either making a small wall quilt or pillow for my sewing room/guest room which is red and white with bits of yellow. I think I want to design this so it looks like little aprons hanging from a clothesline...
I love the look of quilts on a clothesline or white linens...but this is bright and cheery, with happy colors.
The one below covers my Ivory liquid dish soap.

Red, blues, quilts, fabric storage

Just a little blue...

Love the contrast of blues and red...
Pillows, quilts, flowers...they all go together perfectly....

Yesterday I showed how to add an old door to inexpensive shelves to make a cabinet for fabric or quilt storage...

Door + Bookshelf = Quilt storage

I've been working on a project....
a good friend of mine gave me an old door....chippy, worn, distressed...
love it.

I kept looking at it thinking I wonder if it would fit on a bookshelf (pressed particle board shelves from Walmart about 25.00)
And yes it fit measurement wise.  The door was a little taller than the bookshelf if you will look closely at the top picture but it really didn't matter to me.
I bought some hinges at the hardware store and attached them...

They drilled nicely into the door but I had heard if you didn't first drill a hole into the particle board it might split so I drilled a hold where the screws would go.

I won't bore you with another drill picture but the screws went in where the little holes were.
Below the picture shows where the door knob use to go which I don't have any more...but this same friend gave me a door knocker that was of a garden hand trowel....swoon went my heart!

On the top shelves I stacked many of my vintage quilt collection.

In the bottom shelves I stacked some of my fabrics that I make tablerunners and quilts for my Etsy shop. Storage is key!

One last bit of info...

I was very blessed last Sunday to have my oldest son preach at our church as our new Pastor, and our middle son flew in from Las Vegas with a group of friends and they led worship.  I tell you what! I was so blown away by God's goodness...you know when you are raising kids and they do crazy dumb stuff you just wonder....and then all the sudden they are grown...these young men are beyond any of my dreams or expectations....I was so proud and so humbled all at the same time.  I felt like  God had blessed me in such an incredible way I don't even have words to describe how happy I am!
Yay!

Spring Home Tour-Blog Hop

It all started with a chippy paint tool box, filled with handpainted china...roses whispering that spring is here. Bunnies on the look out for fresh greenery, eggs ready to hatch with little chicks...Spring is certainly here.

I made little nests out of frosted flakes and then put them on little miniature cupcakes...yummy. I  love cupcakes.
My sweet sister in law gave me these little egg cups for my birthday. They are adorable and from Target.

The pink pitcher was an ugly color and got spray painted for spring. It is not used for food so I decided why not!

Even the bedroom needed some blooms.

Even our girls got the spring fever!
Hahaha
They didn't know what to think about the
colored eggs I put in the egg basket!

 Flowers make my heart sing...
so I make sure I have pretty ones on the porch...
so I remember to sing when I see them.

Thanks for the visit.
