Candy corn is on the loose at my house, the crows are after them! The pumpkins are just glad they aren't for dinner this time!
These cute little plates I picked up for .65 cents at Target last year after Halloween. I used fabric for the tablecloths, and the black plate underneath is really a spray painted wooden plate that is only used for display!
I love the candy corn topiary trees...there was more candy corn on the table, but sadly it is now gone...oh well, it was delicious while I took pictures, but then realized some of my prop was now gone.
this and that, sewing this and that together, music runs through my head...I also write music at night...I make entire quilts in my head, decorate my house-in my head, paint walls-in my head,...back to the candy corn topiaries, I ended up making those, pillows,
and there's more to come...
Basically I took strips of fabric, white, large strip of orange, and small strip of yellow. So I had one large piece of fabric sewn together...white, organge, yellow...Then I cut out triangles out of the piece of fabric and sewed them together. I made pillows, little bowl fillers, and these taller versions. I cut a couple of branches spray painted them black and placed the sticks in a pot filled with beans. I decided on beans instead of dirt to stablized the topiaries. Then I put the stuffed candy corn pillow/topiaries on the sticks, hot glued them...I ended up having to shorten the stick because they kept wanting to tip over!
All in all these ended up being very easy to make. If you don't sew, you could glue the fabric together with fabric glue. There are all types of fabric glues, or you could just do scrapbook paper glued to a stick!
Thanks for coming by!
Blessings,
Debbie
