Blessing Book Tutorial-500th post Giveaway

Woohoo! It is that time again!

First of all I want you to know at the end of this post to leave a comment for my 500th post giveaway! I'm a yacker...what can I say. Blogging is a blast, keeps us from procrastinating...I don't know about you but I have accomplished more projects than I have in years! Big smile. If you finish a project you get to post about it! Right?
This is a repost of my Blessing Book. I make a blessing book every year and our families write in it what they are thankful for and how they have been blessed.
First I took about 10 blank cards (I got a package of 50 with envelopes at Michaels) and I sewed down the center, which I don't think was a good idea because it wanted to split on me. Next time I will just punch holes and tie it together with twine or a tight woven ribbon.Next I free hand...cut a large pumpkin about the size of the front of the card. I inked the edges, used a black pen to draw the pumpkin lines curving around toward the bottom. At the top I used (sorry it is blurry...I have been working on this) brown checkered ribbon for the stem.
Next I used rub on letters, but I also like to just print things out on cardstock as well, to spell Give Thanks. You could also say 'Fall Blessings',
Thanksgiving, etc. I cut this out and inked the edges...but then I edged it with black cardstock to make it stand out a little more. I just glued the saying on Black cardstock and cut around it leaving a little bit of an edge.

Next I glued things down. I don't use anything fancy, I use a glue stick or sticky dots. I love how sticky dots stick to your hair, clothes, nose, eyelashes (don't ask..) I end up with them everywhere! And I mean everywhere~ Hahahaha
Then this part I loved! I got my buttons, bows, ribbons, fall leaves together and started layering things...at first there wasn't enough so I added more, a tag here... a leaf there...but no glitter! Hahaha can you believe it! Maybe I will do something for Christmas...we have to have glitter!

I bought a while ago one of those cutters, that cuts out these tags. You have to fold them in half but I just love them. You glue one side on at a time...

Mr. Rooster is giving thanks because his relatives won't be eaten at Thanksgiving! Well any of his close relatives!
Today I'm playing along with these wonderful blogs!

I found your over at Darlene's and have had so much fun snooping around. We have lots in common, except the chickens. After 12 years of having them, all we have left are a few feathers in the grass.....so sad, and a long story. We'll probably get some more in the spring but I am missing a fridge full of eggs like you have.

Hi, Debbie I love to check your blog out! I think your a great lady and I love the way you share so much with us! like your love of God and family! and of course crafts too! I would love to get anything from you for a giveaway (especially if it was made by you!) I didn't see a sign up by date. I've been on my couch recovering from outpatient surgery. I've missed checking out the blogs. I can't find the power cord for my laptop. I am praying really hard to find it! One, so I can blog and check them out, and two before my husband kills me! LOL Take care, XO Fran.

I think it's probably too late to enter the giveaway, but wanted you to know that I love that book idea. What a blessing to have it in the coming years to look back on. I'm not as crafty as you, but I've got to try and make something like this. Thank you for the idea.
Blessings,
Marcia
